Berty Cadilhac is a British, French and Australian playwright, photographer and filmmaker based in London.
His first feature was a romantic comedy called "Art Ache" (2014), about a British accountant (David Wayman) who falls in love with a French artist (Sharlit Deyzac).
In 2015 he wrote and directed a play in French titled "Cuisine Diplomatique". This political satire was based on a true story: the camel offered by Mali to French president François Hollande, was eaten by the family that was supposed to take care of the presidential gift. The play was staged 125 times in France and the UK, and won the best comedy writing award at the Avignon Festival in 2016
Berty's second feature film is a thriller-action film. "Roller Squad" (2020) was produced on a shoestring budget during the covid pandemy, and making the best of the empty streets of London at the end of the lockdown.
"Tide" is Berty's latest project. A horror-adventure film shot in the bay of Mont Saint Michel, where every year visitors get caught by the treacherous rising tide. The film explores the theme of dual identity, a recurring topic in the writer-director body of work.
