Markus Otz is a Swiss director, cinematographer, screenwriter and producer, born on 5 August 1960 in Schaffhausen CH, to Frieda (Stalder) ceramist artist and Wilhelm Otz, industrial technician.
With a strong self-taught nature and particular aptitude for sculpture and modeling, after the commercial diploma (1980) he started an "idea factory" intended as a laboratory for the conjugation of plastic and visual arts with particular attention to the creation of sets for theater and cinema, as well as special effects, animatronics and objects not available on the market.
In 2000 he graduated in Fine Arts at the Brera Academy in Milan, specializing in painting, then teaching young people in schools and training in the social sector as a trainer for adults.
In 2015 he founded his own film production company "emotive visual outlook carpentry" and attended courses in directing and screenwriting at the Mohole film school in Milan.
In 2019 he founded the Momòhill Film Fair, an independent film festival located in Southern Switzerland.
