Andrés Campos is a Costa Rican cinematographer best known for his work on the film El Despertar de las Hormigas (2019) Nominated for Best Ibero-American Film at the Goya Awards 2020 and Best First Feature at Berlinale 69. He also shooted El Pájaro de Fuego (2021) Premiered on the 42nd Habana Film Festival. Andrés is a founding member and current president of Costa Rican Society of Cinematographers (CCR) and Talent Campus of the Guadalajara Film Festival (2011).
Andrés began his career as Cinematographer in Argentina, shooting documentaries like Mirada de la Tierra (2012) Winning Doc Tv Latin America III and Como Dios Nos Trajo (2014) Official Selection of the Habana, Guadalajara and Montreal Film Festivals. He is also known for his work on TV Series like Dele Viaje 2.0, Winner of Best Cinematography at the Sao Paulo International TV Series Festival 2018 and San José de Noche, Winner of the Costa Rican National Award of Culture 2018.
During his career as a cinematographer has filmed around 20 short films such as Paulina, el viejo y la Tortuga (2018) Winner Best Cinematography at Marbella International Film Festival 2018 and Peces Muertos, Nominated for Best Cinematography by the Argentinian Society of Cinematographers at the Light Film Festival 2015. Andrés also worked on Music Videos for bands like Patterns, Canina, Gabriel Garzón Montano, Eureka Sativa, Mía Paz, Flower Thief, Kenya, and Dylan Thomas. Advertising has led him to shoot more than 100 commercials in México, Argentina and Central America.
