A trained graphic artist & photographer, Rhys Hayward began his foray into film-making with stints as a runner and script reader for companies such as Scala and Working Title Films. During this period, he continued to hone his skills on his own films. His first short film "Behind a Smile" was short-listed for CH4's Shooting Gallery series, and received praise from renowned British director Bryan Forbes. He later branched out into music video, which led to work being broadcast on Sky TV channels. His first feature, Heavy Duty, was distributed in 2013 by Koan Inc. (Saints & Soldiers), and stars Sebastian Street (The Last Seven) and Giles Alderson (The Torment).
