Daytime Emmy Nominations 2022: Beyoncé Earns First Nod, ‘The Young and the Restless’ Tops ‘General Hospital’
Beyoncé is among the first-time nominees at this year Daytime Emmys, as the National Academy of Arts & Sciences announced the ceremony’s 2022 nominations on Thursday.

The singer is nominated in the original song category for her theme song to Facebook Watch’s “Talks with Mama Tina.” Overall this year, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” received the most Daytime Emmy nominations, with 18, followed closely by ABC’s “General Hospital,” with 17. Among outlets, syndicated fare earned the top tally, with 48 nods for various program distributors, followed by two broadcasters tied on top: ABC and CBS, both with 31.

Among this year’s other key highlights: The Daytime Drama category — which has been shrinking since the broadcast networks reduced their serial output — has expanded back to five nominees for the first time since 2014.

That’s thanks to Peacock’s “Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem,” which will go up against stalwarts “The Bold and the Beautiful

Days of Our Lives Review Week of 3-28-22: Things Just Don't Add Up

Days of Our Lives Review Week of 3-28-22: Things Just Don't Add Up
Rafe said it best: something doesn't add up.

In his case, he somehow missed the panicked look on Tr's face while Rafe and Paulina talked about Eli's shooting.

But that was far from the only thing that was slightly off on Days of Our Lives during the week of 3-28-22, and we can't even entirely blame the Devil.

The Tr storyline is far more interesting than the Devil nonsense.

Tr is a devil of sorts himself. He's pretending to be reformed and thinks pulling the wool over Paulina's eyes is the solution to his financial problems.

Tr: I'm overleveraged right now. I had to move some money around to pay off some debts.

Beth: Wait, is that why you want Paulina back? Cause she's rich?

Tr: All I'm saying is, it's in your best interest to keep your mouth shut so that I can get back together with Paulina.

Days of Our Lives Round Table: The Undead Arrive in Salem!

Days of Our Lives Round Table: The Undead Arrive in Salem!
Abigail outed Gwen, Bonnie and Justin got married, Trask took Xander for $1 million, and the undead popped up in Salem for Halloween.

Our TV Fanatics, Jack and Christine, are joined by Phloeforever and Mikey from MyHourglass, a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate the reactions to Gwen's secret, Susan Bank's return, the wedding no one wanted to attend, and which zombie was their favorite this week in Salem.

Abigail outed Gwen's secrets to Jack. Rate your satisfaction with this outcome from 1 (hated it) to 10 (loved it).

Mikey: I'll give it a 5, which I'm considering a neutral answer. I'm 'satisfied' with the prospect of this long-lingering thread being over for good -- between Marci Miller's maternity leave and some weird pacing choices, all the air was drained out of this story long before the full truth was exposed.

I know Gwen kinda-sorta told Jack the truth, that Abigail

Days of Our Lives Round Table: Should Bonnie Be Forgiven?
Bonnie and Justin's wedding came to a screeching halt, Julie was in denial about Doug, Xander and Gwen got closer, and Abigail returned!

Our TV Fanatics, Jack and Christine, are joined by Soaps4Ever and Matt4Days from MyHourglass, a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate if Bonnie should be forgiven, Xander and Gwen as a couple, their reaction to Abigail's return, whether they watched Beyond Salem, and more!

Bonnie and Justin's wedding was called off when the police took Bonnie into custody. Will Justin forgive Bonnie? Do you want him to?

Soaps4Ever: I'm afraid that when all the details come out, Justin will see Bonnie as a victim and forgive her.

I don't want him to because there is always bad drama with her around, plus they probably should have never gotten together in the first place.

Jack: I would Love for this to be the end of this stupid story,

Days of Our Lives Review Week of 9-06-21: Memory Lapses and Broken Hearts

Days of Our Lives Review Week of 9-06-21: Memory Lapses and Broken Hearts
This day was always going to come.

Doug and Julie are Salem's longest-running couple, and eventually, their time was going to run out.

Maybe there'll be a miracle, but right now it seems like Days of Our Lives during the week of 9-06-21 was the beginning of the end for Doug.

I had mixed feelings about this story since spoilers began alluding to it.

On the one hand, the previous medical storylines for older characters quickly denigrated into silliness, and I've wanted something more realistic forever.

Doug's grief when he thought Julie was dying of a heart attack was so much meatier than all that nonsense with Gabi controlling Julie's pacemaker, and Belle's decision to honor Marlena's Dnr order turned into a ridiculous story about switching Marlena with Hattie so that Marlena could live.

And if this story stays within the bounds of reality and doesn't involve miracle cures that don't really exist,

Horror Highlights: Dachra, Suzanne’S Saturday Night Scares, F.E.A.R.
New Poster for Dachra: "Grisly, frightening, and stuffed with howling thrills, the new Tunisian horror film Dachra won over both Frightfest and the Venice Film Festival and is finally making its stateside debut. Equal parts Midsommar and The Blair Witch Project, Dachra begins with a simple classroom assignment and spins through double plot twists into high-tension cannibal sorcery.

Sent off with a documentary video assignment, three journalism students decide to interview Mongia, seeking new clues about the cold case. Intrigued and perturbed by the deranged woman’s story, the trio take their camera to the scene of the crime deep in the woods, led by the headstrong young investigator Yassmine (scream queen par excellence Yassmine Dimassi).

Soon they are welcomed to a secluded, hushed village where goats have free rein and raw meat hangs drying in the wind. Captured with a minimalist color palette in Hatem Nechi’s eerie

‘Fear (aka F.E.A.R. Forget Everything And Run)’ Review

Fear, the debut film from writer/directors Geoff Reisner and Jason Tobias is pitched as a post apocalyptic action film. When it was released in the UK as F.E.A.R. Forget Everything And Run it was positioned as a zombie film with the tagline “They Won’t Stay Dead”. Which one is more accurate? Unfortunately, neither of them are,

Days of Our Lives Review Week of 5-17-21: Kisses Out of Nowhere

Days of Our Lives Review Week of 5-17-21: Kisses Out of Nowhere
Only on a soap can someone take off and go halfway around the country or world without warning.

On Days of Our Lives during the week of 5-17-21, Abigail left for Boston with only a few minutes of prep time while Ben considered jumping on a plane to South Africa to talk Ciara out of divorcing him.

Meanwhile, some people who we wish would leave town are still in Salem, wreaking havoc. Yes, I'm looking at you, Kristen!

Abigail's sudden decision to leave town was probably borne mostly out of necessity. Marci Miller recently had a baby in real life and needed to go on maternity leave around the time this was filmed.

I don't object to Abby leaving for a bit. It's nice to get a break from all the screaming and unnecessary drama that she causes every time she hears Gwen's name.

But Abby leaving to visit Jennifer,

Snowy UK Trailer for Zombie Apocalypse 'Forget Everything and Run'

Snowy UK Trailer for Zombie Apocalypse 'Forget Everything and Run'
"What you need... is someone who knows the way." Signature Ent. has released an official UK trailer for an indie zombie apocalypse survival thriller titled Forget Everything and Run, also listed under the title F.E.A.R., which is an obvious anagram. This is set to open on VOD in April in the UK, but there's still no US release set or any other plans yet. When a terrifying pathogen is released, one family will fight to save their children against a band of marauders, hellbent on revenge. They escape and cling to hope, barely surviving in the mountains. The synopsis doesn't specifically mention zombies, but it's pretty clearly another zombie thriller. This stars Marci Miller, Jason Tobias, Cece Kelly, Danny Ruiz, Susan Moore Harmon, and Justin Dray. I dig all the snowy shots in this, but the rest of it looks like gritty madness. Check it out. Days of Our Lives Review Week of 3-08-21: Too Good To Be True

Days of Our Lives Review Week of 3-08-21: Too Good To Be True
I knew it was too good to last.

It's been several months since the last doppelganger storyline, but on Days of Our Lives during the week of 3-08-21, Kristen wreaked havoc pretending to be Susan, while Abigail appeared headed for another Did storyline.

Meanwhile, the murder mystery story was back-burnered again in favor of campy nonsense.

Gwen and Ciara's kidnapping storylines came to an end, but not before Evan briefly held Claire hostage, and Kristen knocked out Sarah.

That makes four kidnappings in one week, and none of them was particularly original or compelling.

It's hard to sustain interest when that's almost all there is, and there was no real buildup to any of these abductions.

Claire and Sarah were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, Gwen is so unlikeable that it was hard to root for her, and the Ciara storyline was so full of
