Kenji Lui was born in Hong Kong and moved to the US after he finished
high school. He first studied films at University of Southern
California (USC) and later earned his BA in films from University of
California at Berkeley (CAL).
As a big fan of Asian cinema, he started to write movie reviews and later founded Cinespot.com, one of the largest bilingual Asian cinema websites, during the time he was studying at UC Berkeley. His movie reviews can also be seen on various commercial websites and publications.
In 2004, Lui directed his first short film "Yellow Fish", which was an official selection of the Asian Film Festival of Dallas. "Thereafter", his second narrative short, was an official pick of the jury recommendation category at IFVA in Hong Kong and various film festivals around the world.
In 2007, Lui made a 3-minute short film "Dedicated to...", which was screened at the 3-minute film festival in San Francisco.
"The Divine Cronus" is his latest work in 2008.
Lui is also an official artist on Alivenotdead.com, an online community for artist.
