Biography

Caileigh Scott, Lady of Galloway was born in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, and raised in the Pennsylvania countryside and New York City. The only child of a modern dancer and folk musician, she has been surrounded by the arts, activism, and philanthropy her entire life. Her early artistic pursuits were in music and dance - she played the viola, cello, flute, and oboe; and studied ballet, tap, and jazz. She initially envisioned a career with the New York City Ballet, but at the age of 12 was cast in her first professional stage production, after which she switched her focus to acting. Standing 5'10" tall by the age of 14, Caileigh also began modeling, walking in New York Fashion Week, Los Angeles Fashion Week, and Rock That Fashion for VH1's Save the Music, as well as appearing in numerous print campaigns.

After graduating high school with honors, she attended AMDA, a competitive performing arts college, where she majored in theatre and minored in comedy theory. She has appeared on stage in New York, Los Angeles, regionally, and internationally; on television; and in film. In 2017, Caileigh and childhood friend Jacklyn Collier formed feminist comedy duo Girlcrush Comedy, the production company Theatre Camp Productions, and the youth acting coaching company Theatre Kids Coaching.

Outside of her career in entertainment, Caileigh is a social impact producer, philanthropist, and women's rights advocate. She was a founding member of Kirsten Gillibrand's Young Leaders Council and is a member of: New-York Historical Society's Women's History Council, DNC Young Professionals Leadership Council, Eleanor's Legacy Innovation Council, Habitat for Humanity's Women Build Council, Planned Parenthood of Greater New York's Young Visionaries, Robin Hood Foundation's The Forest Junior Board, UNICEF USA's NextGen Committee, UN Women Metro New York's Young Professionals Committee, and the New York Junior League. She co-chairs the Ms. Foundation's Young Professionals Advisory Committee and the Clinton Foundation's 2030 Leadership Council, serves on the board of directors for Students Disrupting, and is a District Ambassador for the Alzheimer's Association.

Co-founded the charitable organization IBG, along with fellow entertainment professionals Elizabeth De Razzo, Danielle Turchiano, Patricia Steffy, and Karen Mendez. The non-profit raised money for underfunded causes while promoting philanthropy through the arts. It ran from 2008 - 2014.

Originally setting her sights on a dance career until the age of 12, Scott studied ballet, tap, and jazz in her youth. She was also very involved in music, playing the viola, cello, flute, oboe, and piano at a young age.

She is of Irish descent on her father's side and French-German descent on her mother's side.

Graduated in the top 5% of her high school class.

Her father was close friends with late actor Dennis Pfister.

Her uncle is cinematographer Peter Herb.

She served as a lead volunteer organizer for 18 months on Hillary Clinton's 2016 Presidential campaign, and was a founding member of the Young Leaders Council for Kirsten Gillibrand's 2020 Presidential campaign.

She is a competitive equestrian and archer.

She is a friend and collaborator of Cristina Cacciotti, daughter of the late Valerie Harper.

She publicly advocates for a ban on the cruel and abusive horse racing industry.

Good friends with producer/director Barclay DeVeau, who has directed her in several theatrical pieces featuring Kathleen Turner for Take The Lead, an organization by Gloria Feldt dedicated to achieving gender leadership parity. She also appeared in DeVeau's staged reading of "12 Angry Men" performed by 12 Impassioned Womxn for the 12,000 Voices Initiative, raising money for several voting rights organizations, including The League of Women Voters, Voto Latino, and When We all Vote.

Met good friend and collaborator, producer Tom D'Angora, in 2015 when both were working on Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, headquartered in Brooklyn, NY.

On April 18, 2022, she announced her breast cancer diagnosis via a photo essay in collaboration with Paulo Netto.
