Mini Bio (1)

Alanna Blair specializes in the unexpected.

You may have seen her screaming and bleeding profusely in Blue Bloods' Season 6 finale, but dig deeper and you'll find a snarky vegan killjoy (The Idiotmaker's Gravity Tour) a lost soul wandering the LA canals (Frogtown), a suspicious stoner (Forty or Something), and a mysterious stowaway (Precious Wheels Above). An ongoing collaboration with filmmaker Daniel Kremer spans five films (so far), each shot in a fluid, improv-focused style. On the stage, her solo adaptation of "The Waste Land" by TS Eliot took her to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and she co-devised the two-woman rooftop drama "Above Us" for the New York Fringe Festival.

Alanna sports a BFA from CalArts, and hangs out at The Barrow Group. She also djs as Bulletproof Tiger, plays bass guitar, and fosters kittehs.

Walking in her dad's dj footsteps, Alanna spins around the NYC underground as TGRbass, half of duo TankTop NYC, and the founder of Basssocial. Her djing and acting worlds merged in the webseries "Hustling", where she portrayed a dj and scored two scenes.
After moving to the east coast, Alanna teamed with "Manson: the Musical" friends Alex Dunbar and J Steinberg to form the epic garage-funk-punk-comedy band SABABA Rocksyourfaceoff.
Alanna studied piano throughout childhood, then moved her focus to mallet percussion. She learned to play guitar at Strings N Things, Memphis's legendary guitar store, and advanced to bass guitar in NYC.
While at CalArts, Alanna studied creative writing with Anthony McCann, Maggie Nelson and Matias Vieneger. She has two poetry compilations: "Stones Trains Fire Flight" and "A Hundred Pieces of Time".
