Born in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico, Víctor began his music studies in
his hometown at an early age. Later on in Mexico City he studied at the
National School of Music of the National Autonomous University of
Mexico (UNAM) were he received his Bachelor's degree with Honors in
Piano Performance under the tutelage of Maestro Luis Mayagoitia
Vasquez. Throughout his career Mr. Hernández has been active both as a
pianist and a composer. In 2009 he received an MFA in Music Composition
for the Screen from Columbia College Chicago where he did studies in
film scoring under the mentorship of Andy Hill.
He is the great-grandson of Mexican composer Manuel Hernández Nava.
