When Black Adam dropped its first trailer Wednesday, viewers saw Dwayne Johnson trade barbs with a team of heroes that may be unfamiliar to general audiences. That superhero team, the Justice Society, will rise to new levels of public consciousness when the film opens in October, and DC is hoping to capitalize on that high-profile debut.
Thus, DC is launching The Justice Society Files, a four-issue series debuting in July. The main cover will be from artist Kaare Andrews, and each issue will have a variant cover featuring the likeness of the four actors who make up the Justice Society — Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo — though his face is obscured) and Dr. Fate (Pierce Brosnan).
Cavan Scott, known for his work on Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The High Republic initiative, penned the four-issue series and collaborated with a roster of artists.

In my view, last night’s series finale of Gotham provided quite the fitting end for the Batman prequel show. Having already wrapped up the “No Man’s Land” arc a week before, the producers were free to leap ten years forward into the future in order to show us the Dark Knight that David Mazouz’s Bruce Wayne grew up to be – in addition to planting the seeds for his epic rivalries with Joker, Penguin and Riddler. Oh yeah, his complicated romance with Selina Kyle was also renewed in a sense, as their relationship is the stuff of legend.
Given all that, I found it rather appropriate how the finale had been titled “The Beginning…,” thus making it feel like a pilot episode for a second series we’ll never get to see. Granted, the show’s five-year run at Fox has concluded, but there’s a way for...

Now that the DC Animated Universe has solidified its characters and reality, it makes sense to go exploring. After all, if there’s a Robin, surely there must be other teen heroes. We meet some of them in the newly released Justice League vs Teen Titans.
Robin (Stewart Allen) is the focal point as his go-it-alone and I-know-better-than-everyone-else attitude actually gets him into trouble on a case that foreshadows the arrival of the demon Trigon (Jon Bernthal). A frustrated Batman (Jason O’Mara) arranges for Damian to spend time with Starfire (Kari Wahlgren) and the Teen Titans. Interestingly, this interpretation of the Tamaranean princess positions her a caring, mentor figure as opposed to the current fish-out-of-water incarnation or the innocent warrior she was originally seen as. She is training the next generation composed of the Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle (Jake T. Austin), Beast Boy (Brandon Soo Hoo), and Raven (Taissa Farmiga).

The Flash, Season 2, Episode 10, “Potential Energy”
Written by Bryan Q. Miller
Directed by Rob Hardy
Airs Tuesdays at 8pm (Et) on The CW
When The Flash’s second season premiered, the series was returning from one of the year’s most exciting cliffhangers on television, and the first episode back handled the resolution to that cliffhanger with intelligence and heart. Although network seasons aren’t always structured so that the final episode of the calendar year is a midseason “finale” (in the sense of being a clearly-defined midpoint in the narrative arc), more and more writing teams are working towards that idea. And while The Flash isn’t coming back to television in 2016 with a wormhole to deal with, The CW’s hit show still finished 2015 with a significant issue: what is to be done with Patty Spivot?
Among the many things The Flash does right is how the story...

DC Entertainment has released the first image from their upcoming animated film Justice League Vs. Teen Titans. The movie is being developed by producer James Tucker and director Sam Liu, and they’ve brought in a solid voice cast to bring these characters to life.
Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Daredevil) plays Trigon, a ruthless demon who shares a long comic book history with the Teen Titans. Then there’s Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story), who plays Raven, Trigon’s daughter.
The rest of the cast includes Jake T. Austin (The Fosters) as Blue Beetle, Brandon Soo Hoo (From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series) as Beast Boy, and Kari Wahlgren (Phineas and Ferb) as Starfire. The line-up also includes veterans of previous animated movies in this series, including Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Sean Maher as Nightwing, and Stuart Allan as Robin. Fans of the DC Universe direct-to-video animated movies should be thrilled to hear that the voice cast has been officially announced for 2016’s second release, Justice League vs. Teen Titans. Featuring a staggering amount of DC’s finest heroes from varying generations, we can only assume this movie will deliver much excitement and fan service.
The Teen Titans lineup itself will be composed of Robin/Damian Wayne (Stuart Allan), Nightwing (Sean Maher), Starfire (Kari Wahlgren), Blue Beetle (Jake T. Austin), Beast Boy (Brandon Soo Hoo), Raven (Taissa Farmiga), and the most interesting addition, Cyborg (Shemar Moore). Sure, Cyborg is historically known to be in the Teen Titans, but has been aligned with the Justice League in various forms of media since 2011. So, it should definitely be interesting to see what series of events force him to switch his allegiance.
As for the Justice League, expect the following characters to return:...

The CW has released the first clip from the midseason premiere of The Flash, and while it’s fairly brief, it does at least give us an idea of the kind of dynamic we should expect to see between Joe West and his newly discovered son, Wally. Played by Keiynan Lonsdale, the comic book version of the character held the mantle of The Flash for over two decades, but it’s not yet clear what kind of role he’ll play in the CW series.
For the time being, the character building a relationship with his father and sister will no doubt be the focus, and it’s going to be very interesting to see how that plays out. Based on the clip above, it definitely seems as if there’s some tension between Joe and Wally, and if the character is set to become a speedster, it probably isn...

Alright, so last we left off with Barry and the gang, it was Christmas and a surprise guest arrived at the door. The revelation of Wally West by far was the coolest news to come to the series all season, and I'm really excited for what this means in the long run! For those unaware (not many of you I'm sure), Wally in many comic continuities has taken over the mantle of Flash using his intellect to create a speed suit. That's all down the road (hopefully), and for now The CW is keeping us in the present by releasing a synopsis for the mid-season premiere on January 19th...

It’s been a tough go for Diggle in season two of Arrow: with so many other interesting new characters with shiny costumes and big personalities to explore, the show’s most stoic character’s been mostly designated to the background, popping to the foreground in episodes like “Keep Your Enemies Closer” mostly as a plot device. There are some obligatory attempts to build out his back story – but again, those often seem to be in service of a larger, more intriguing plot. This is the case again in “Suicide Squad”, which features not one, but two fantastic story lines about powerful entities striking out on their own, but finding out that things go a little rougher when they’re alone.
