The Saturdays are a five-piece British pop girl band, consisting of members Vanessa White, Rochelle Humes, Frankie Bridge (known as Frankie), Mollie King and Una Healy.
The Saturdays have released 3 albums: "Chasing Lights", "Wordshaker" and "Headlines!" All three albums managed to crack the Top 10 in the UK Album Charts.
Both their first and second album ("Chasing Lights" and "Wordshaker") placed at Number 9 in the UK Album Charts, however "Chasing Lights" went UK: Platinum, and "Wordshaker" went UK: Silver. Their third albums "Headlines!" reached Number 3 in the UK Album Charts and has gone UK: Gold.
Una Healy is the oldest member (born 1981) of The Saturdays, with Vanessa White being the youngest (born 1989). Both Rochelle Humes, and Frankie Bridge are also born in 1989 whereas Mollie King was born in 1987.
Members Rochelle Humes, and Frankie Bridge previously worked together as members of British kids band "S Club Juniors" (or as later known as - S Club 8). The group disbanded in 2004.
Una Healy is the only Irish member of the group.
Before becoming a member of The Saturdays, Mollie King attempted to find fame in music by auditioning for British music talent show The X Factor (2004) as both a soloist and as part of another girl group (Fallen Angelz). She failed to reach success both times.
Both Una Healy and Mollie King can play guitar. Una specifically, has been known to play the guitar during some of the bands live performances.
Member Rochelle revealed they are named 'The Saturdays' because "It's everyone's favourite day of the week, and it's always the best night out.".
The Saturdays accompanied well established British pop girl band Girls Aloud on the their 'Tangled Up Tour' in 2008 when The Saturdays were just starting out.
The first single The Saturdays released is titled "If This Is Love" which peaked at Number 8 in the UK Singles Chart.
