Gharrett Patrick Paon is an actor-producer with Acadian and Mi'kmaq ancestry from Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is a recent alumnus of the Canadian Film Centre Producer's Lab. In 2018, he won Telefilm Canada's Pitch This! competition with writer/director Bretten Hannam at the Toronto International Film Festival for WIldhood.
Gharrett has appeared in recurring roles in Haven, Forgive Me, Life Unexpected, Sex & Violence and AMC's Emmy-nominated series The Killing. His work on screen has been recognized by three ACTRA award nominations.
During his Bachelor of Commerce degree at Dalhousie University, Gharrett associate produced the four-hour documentary special Deadly Journeys of the Apostles for National Geographic Channel International. The following year, while still in school, Gharrett produced and production managed Wild Wild East and Ocean Parks, 12 hours of nature documentary television for Smithsonian Channel.
In 2017 Gharrett was the recipient of the prestigious Nova Scotia Talent Trust Young Artist of Excellence Award, and The Shelagh Mackenzie Filmmaking Award.
In 2018 Gharrett produced WILDFIRE, a short film version of Wildhood, which will begin its festival tour as one of ten Canadian shorts screening in Telefilm Canada's Not Short on Talent showcase in Clermont-Ferrand, France February 2019.
