Kevin Foo has had over thirty years experience in all aspects of the mining industry including technical, operational, management, and directorship of public companies.
He has lived and worked in countries in five continents including eighteen years in Kazakhstan.
A native of Ballarat, Australia, Foo has degrees from the University of London, Imperial College, and Ballarat School of Mines. He is regarded as a specialist in base metals and gold mining and extraction, and has published over twenty papers on gold and base metal extraction and holds three patents.
After becoming Director of Metallurgy in 1985 at Aberfoyle Group in Australia, in 1990 he was appointed Director of Minproc Corporation managing projects in North and South America.
Foo first visited Kazakhstan in early 1990 establishing the highest level contacts within the Government in Kazakhstan during his eighteen year presence. As Chief Executive he was foundation director of Bakyrchik Gold which was listed on the London Stock Exchange with an initial £18 million market value. Upon his retirement from that company in 1996 the market capitalization was £150 million.
From 1996 to 1999 Foo was Chief Executive of Dabney Industries Corporation which was established to develop mining, oil and gas resources in Kazakhstan.
In early 2000 he became Managing Director of Celtic Resources Holdings Plc, a small public company with a market capitalization of less than U.S. $1 million. In late 2007 Celtic was sold to a large Russian group, Severstal for US $360 million. Celtic Resources Holdings Plc has two operating gold mines and a molybdenum mine in Kazakhstan.
Foo is Chairman of Victoria Oil and Gas, a company with operations in the former Soviet Union, and is Chairman of Bramlin Ltd., an energy company with activities in Cameroon.
