Growing up on the Canadian Prairies in Calgary, Alberta, Alison Wandzura found her first creative outlet as a dancer. She graduated from the University of Calgary with degrees in Theatre and Marketing, before relocating to Vancouver, British Columbia, to work in film and television in 2010.

Alison plays a recurring role in the new Netflix comedy series The Healing Powers of Dude, and her past on-screen work includes prominent roles in major network and cable series' including Van Helsing (SyFy) and The Crossing (ABC).

In addition to film and television, Alison has given award-winning performances on stage in productions of Steel Magnolias, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and Messiah on the Frigidaire. She is a founding member of ARTery Collective, an independent theatre company in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Alison's stage debut was in the fourth grade, where she negotiated to downgrade an on-stage hug with her "husband", the Shoemaker, to a high-5.
Alison was once surrounded by 12,000 evenly-spaced toothbrushes in a mock "shopping aisle" on a commercial set.
Danced competitively as a child in Ukrainian dance festivals.
Volunteers on an ongoing basis for women's crisis relief and is an advocate for women's equality.
Worked in the swimwear industry for over a decade.
Is the second oldest of five siblings.
Is of Ukrainian and Polish heritage, her maternal grandparents having immigrated from Poland to Canada after World War ll.
Discovered her passion for photography while backpacking in Nicaragua in 2013.
