Been So Long review – Michaela Coel tremendous in movie musical

Coel and Arinzé Kene are captivating as an unlikely couple who meet on a night out in Camden in this beguiling love story

Been So Long is a likable movie with a big heart. A contemporary romantic musical set in Camden, north London, it is based on the original Young Vic stage production, with music and lyrics by Arthur Darvill and book by Ché Walker. The director is Tinge Krishnan, who made the tough urban drama Junkhearts in 2011.

The film gives us a beguiling love story: Simone is a serious-minded single mother of a disabled child who, in spite of herself, falls for Raymond (Arinzé Kene), a tough man just out of prison for a chaotic, non-violent crime which he now bitterly regrets. He is now living at home with his mum and working for the council. The relationship of Simone and Raymond has enormous warmth and emotional generosity, and

Review: Legends of Tomorrow the Complete Third Season

  • Comicmix
“Insane is what we do best.”

To appreciate fully the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow, you just have to lean in with the crazy. An antidote to the overly grim Arrow, the spinoff show embraces its sloppiness. The “legends” wear their inefficiency as a badge of honor and each episode of the third season amplifies this while also tightening the bonds between them.

Legends of Tomorrow the Complete Third Season is a three-disc set out now from Warner Home Video, In addition to all 18 episodes, we get the complete “Crisis on Earth-x” crossover with Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl. Taken as a whole, the season introduces a major threat and deals with it, while also pausing to focus on the various characters while also setting up the fourth season, doing a better job than its peers do.

We open with time having been broken and the Legends racing about repairing the

Legends of Tomorrow Deleted Scene: Sara Learns About Ava's Ability to Love

Rip Hunter has words both laudatory and revelatory for Sara Lance in this deleted scene from DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

In Season 3’s penultimate episode, titled “Guest Starring John Noble,” the Legends were ramping up toward their final clash with Mallus, while also processing the recent reveal that Agent Ava Sharpe is a clone, created when Rip founded the Time Bureau.

In the scene above, Rip (played by Arthur Darvill) reassures a second-guessing Sara (Caity Lotz) about her performance-to-date as captain of the Waverider. He then ponders Ava’s own accomplishments, before sharing some very important intel about how

A Former Legend Will Try To Kill The Team In Legends Of Tomorrow Season 4

Life never runs smoothly for the crew of the Waverider. Partly because they travel through time so their personal histories are a little muddled, but also because they’re self-described screw-ups who, despite trying their best, always seem to cause more problems for themselves along the way. There’s an unexpected issue facing the team in the upcoming fourth season of Legends of Tomorrow, though, and it comes in the form of one of their own members gone bad.

According to TV Line, a former Legend will return in season 4 in an “unexpected form to try and kill the team.” That’s all we know right now, but the various changes to the Legends’ line-up over the years give us a few options as to who this mystery traitor could be.

Perhaps the most obvious is Rip Hunter, the former Time Master/Time Bureau agent and leader of the Legends

  • Cinelinx
After months of speculation over who could possibly play Kate Kane (Batwoman) for The CW, it's finally been revealed that a major up-and-coming star will don the cowl!  More within...

Greg Berlanti's DC superhero universe, on the CW, has seen its fair share of established stars come and go throughout its tenure.  Stars like Manu Bennett (Deathstroke), Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer), Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), just to name a few.  Yet, the latest casting news out of DC Entertainment feels...bigger.

Ruby Rose has been cast as Batwoman for CW's annual Crossover event.

Batwoman's alter ego is Katherine Kane, the daughter of two highly-respected members of the military.  After the death of her mother, her father remarried into a wealthy home, causing Kane to become a socialite, much like Bruce Wayne.  Following a relationship with Renee Montoya and an encounter with the Dark Knight, she

Rip Hunter Won’t Appear In Legends Of Tomorrow Season 4

Now that a trailer for the fourth season of Legends of Tomorrow has been officially released, it truly feels like the Waverider crew’s return is just around the corner – even if we do have three months to go until showtime. Still, there’s bound to be much exciting news with which to fill the gap in that timespan.

As was to be expected, the next chapter in the saga will be a time of change, as none other than John Constantine will heavily factor into what’s to come. To the chagrin of some though, a few of the bunks aboard the ship will be vacated, what with Kid Flash also poised to exit, but let’s not forget about Rip Hunter’s death that was witnessed near the end of season 3.

Of course, with this being being a time traveling series and all, one would expect for Rip

Legends Of Tomorrow Adds Courtney Ford As Regular For Season 4

Season 4 of Legends of Tomorrow will shake up the main cast in some major ways. After perishing in the season 3 finale, it looks like Arthur Darvill’s Rip Hunter is out for good, and sadly Kid Flash will soon leave the Waverider as Keiynan Lonsdale is bowing out of the show as well. It’s definitely a time for change, then, but at least there are several new regulars who will more than soften the blow of these two exits.

The latest to be announced is Courtney Ford, who’s being bumped up from her recurring role in season 4 to a regular for the next run. Of course, Ford plays Nora Darhk, the daughter of longtime Arrowverse villain Damien Darhk (as portrayed by Neal McDonough). The apple didn’t fall far from the tree in this case, as Nora’s inherited her dad’s mischievous ways. That said, she does

Legends Of Tomorrow Ep Reveals If Vixen And Rip Hunter Will Return

The season 3 finale of Legends of Tomorrow saw two major characters say goodbye to their friends. One, though, was much more permanent a farewell than the other.

While Amaya Jiwe Aka Vixen left the Waverider of her own accord in order to finally return to her own time, Rip Hunter sacrificed himself to save the Legends and stop the evil Mallus. But, seeing as this is a time travel show, what are the chances that either of these characters could return for season 4?

Entertainment Weekly got the chance to ask Legends showrunner Marc Guggenheim this very question. First up, he wasted no time in confirming that, yes, we have not seen the last of Maisie Richardson-Sellers in the Arrowverse. That’s not exactly news, however, as the actress has been confirmed as a regular player next season, but it’s good to hear all the same.

“Yes, Maisie will absolutely be back.

Legends Of Tomorrow’s Season Finale Saw Two Major Deaths And One Departure

Though Legends of Tomorrow boasts having mainstays such as White Canary, the Atom and Heatwave, the revolving door on the Waverider can’t be ignored. In fact, the coming and going of various DC heroes has been a double-edged sword of sorts, because while viewers have gotten attached to certain characters they’ve eventually had to say goodbye to, it’s undeniable that new blood keeps the show fresh and exciting.

So, if you’ve been keeping up with news regarding the ensemble series, then you knew to expect at least one exit in last night’s season 3 finale, “The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly.” But technically, we were witness to three, although one was left somewhat open-ended.

Before we get too ahead of ourselves, let’s talk about who won’t be sticking around. This may be a time traveling show, and anybody can be brought back in

Jes Macallan Promoted To Series Regular For Legends Of Tomorrow Season 4

In its early days, Legends of Tomorrow was intended to be an anthology show, with storylines isolated to each given season and different lineups being showcased in each subsequent year. Of course, plans soon changed as viewers became attached to certain characters, but as time has gone on, we have seen a fair amount of heroes come and go.

A recent example of this would be Franz Drameh’s Jefferson Jackson, someone who’d been around since the pilot episode. After the other half of Firestorm, Victor Garber’s Martin Stein, exited the series, Drameh soon followed suit, as the writers may have not been able to figure out a way to keep his character around sans superpowers.

Fortunately, Jax’s position on the Waverider was recently filled by none other than Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), with Matt Ryan’s John Constantine also slated to join in the action in season 4. And,

Legends Of Tomorrow Season Finale Promo Reveals Mallus

If anything, the season finale of Legends of Tomorrow will be a star-studded affair, to say the least. I mean, not only will we bear witness to the returns of both Jonah Hex and Jefferson Jackson, but none other than John Constantine will be putting in an appearance as well!

Come to think of it, the Waverider crew will be needing all the help they can get, for next week’s conclusion will feature the final battle against Mallus, the very demon whom we merely heard the voice of to this point. It was a calculated risk by the producers, sure, but it made last night’s demise of Nora Darhk – whom he’d used as a vessel – all the more tragic.

So, if you tuned in for “Guest Starring John Noble,” you too saw the physical form of Mallus in the closing moments. But, if you want to savor the details,

Jonah Hex Returns In Legends Of Tomorrow Season 3 Finale Photos

The Waverider will be heading back to the Old West in the upcoming finale of Legends of Tomorrow‘s third season. While there, the time-travelling heroes will encounter their old friend, anti-hero cowboy Jonah Hex.

During the second half of the season, the Legends have been hunting down the six Zambesi totems in a bid to stop John Noble’s evil entity Mallus. However, it looks like the plan might not come together as the heroes would have hoped, meaning they have to think up an alternate solution. Apparently, that’ll involve recruiting some old pals and returning to one of the show’s favorite time periods: the Wild West.

Before we get to the official plot summary, here are some newly released photos from the episode, which tease us with what’s to come.
