Jeffrey van Rossum is a film composer born in 1984 and based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Over the years he worked on 2 seasons of the TV series Soof, hitting around 1 million views per episode. The Columnist (De Kuthoer) was a relatively small TV film in The Netherlands but made a big impression worldwide. 2021 was the Covid year Jeffrey worked with Oscar nominated director Hany Abu-Assad. After a pleasant collaboration he delivered a minimal score to Hany's film Huda's Salon. Late 2022 Jeffrey scored De Tatta's. A feature film hitting 500k viewers in a couple of weeks. Making it one of the most successful Dutch films in 2023.
Jeffrey has a big love for various musical styles like pop music, jazz music, classical music and film music. The wide range of influences can be heard throughout his work. There's always the big love for the orchestra, but he likes to work with smaller ensembles and other (rare) acoustical instruments as well. Sometimes mixing these acoustical elements with samples and electronic sounds. Finding the right blend of sounds and instruments is the starting point for every score.
