Superman's absence in The Flash has been explained in a new clip from the upcoming DC Universe movie.
Per The Direct, in the clip -- which has since been removed by Warner Bros. on copyright grounds -- Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) is in line at a sandwich shop when he gets an urgent call from Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy Irons) requesting The Flash's assistance in Gotham. After Barry asks if Superman can come to the rescue instead, Alfred replies, "That was my first thought. Sadly, he’s otherwise engaged." The clip then cuts to a news report on TV showing Superman using his heat vision to seal off an erupting volcano in Guatemala.

Ever since Fast and Furious 6 brought back Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty from apparent death, the Fast and Furious franchise has become known for its dramatic comebacks, with various other beloved characters like Han (Sung Kang) being brought back from the dead or reappearing after long absences. The recent Fast X delivered two such returns, with Gal Gadot’s Gisele Yashar appearing after being presumed dead in Fast and Furious 6 and Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as Luke Hobbs despite his infamous feud with series star Vin Diesel. Gadot and Johnson’s levels of fame make these the biggest returns possible for the franchise, but they also raise the question of who the next films could bring back.

After meeting in 2009's Fast & Furious, Han and Gisele went on to become a power couple in the Fast & Furious franchise. The two lovers planned to move together to Tokyo, but those plans would ultimately not come to fruition as Gisele sacrificed herself in Fast & Furious 6. Han proceeded to move to Tokyo alone, where he himself met a tragic end after being T-boned in the streets. Both characters were confirmed to have died, and yet, both characters returned in Fast X.
Development has begun on several spin-off films, which will include a women-led spin-off as well as a film centered on Luke Hobbs. If it has not already been discussed, Universal should consider a Han and Gisele film, which could give the franchise some welcome new energy. The film could distinguish itself from the "buddy action" of 2019's Hobbs & Shaw, instead resembling a Fast & Furious-style Mr.

Just weeks after it seemed like the Fast X sequel would get pushed back, Vin Diesel has now confirmed the news.
We reported last week that Dwayne Johnson announced his Fast & Furious return and revealed he’ll star in a new film that would bridge the stories between Fast X and Fast X Part 2.
In a new social media post, Vin Diesel shared a photo with Fast X co-star Jason Momoa and announced a new April 2025 release date, pushing back the reportedly final instalment in the mainline series from its rumored 2024 date.
Diesel also took a moment to squash the growing rumors of beef between Momoa and himself. Diesel writes, “Jason wanted to try something totally unique and special and ended up creating a scene-stealing character that the world won’t forget.”

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot finds herself in a heated situation as she runs from explosions in the latest look at the upcoming Netflix action flick, Heart of Stone. Released courtesy of Empire, Gadot has discussed her ambitions for Heart of Stone, with the actress hoping to lead her own James Bond/Bourne/Mission: Impossible style action franchise.

As well as giving a female perspective to the male-dominated action movie genre, Gal Gadot wants Heart of Stone to be at least somewhat grounded in reality. Unlike her characters in the likes of Wonder Woman and the Fast and Furious series. So, while the new...

No, she’s likely not returning as Wonder Woman in future DC Studios productions. And while she apparently is coming back to the “Fast & Furious” world, she’s always going to play second (or fifth) fiddle behind Vin Diesel. So, it appears Gal Gadot is hoping that her new film, “Heart of Stone,” will help her launch a new franchise based around a female action hero.

The Flash, 2023.
Directed by Andy Muschietti.
Starring Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Ian Loh, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, Luke Brandon Field, Gal Gadot, and Jeremy Irons.
Synopsis:
Barry Allen uses his super speed to change the past, but his attempt to save his family creates a world without superheroes, forcing him to race for his life to save the future.
Warner Bros. canceled and destroyed Batgirl because the film’s quality supposedly wasn’t up to standards, but the executives have the nerve to finish off this version of the Dceu by releasing hot messes like Black Adam and now the slightly less terrible The Flash. To clarify, that doesn’t mean I feel that this film should have been shelved due to star Ezra Miller’s highly problematic real-life behavior, which they have sought mental help to correct.

The Flash is coming at an interesting time for the superhero genre. In the same year when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 reminded audiences how high the genre can swing, more muted responses to films like Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania have raised the possibility that the genre might be in decline. Luckily, The Flash. A well-produced, consistently funny, and surprisingly emotional roller coaster ride, making it one of the best DC Extended Universe films that tells a grounded, emotional story amidst a multiversal threat.
The Flash focuses on the titular hero, Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), who finds himself underappreciated by his teammates, ignored by his co-workers, and unable to prove his father Henry's (Ron Livingston) innocence in the mysterious death of his mother Nora (Maribel Verdú) over a decade ago. The realization that his powers can allow for time travel inspires Allen...

Vin Diesel has already revealed that plans are moving ahead to split the original double-ending of the Fast and Furious franchise into a trio of movies, but whether that will still happen is yet to be seen. Fast X has certainly pulled in a decent box office result in principle, but that doesn’t mean it has been pedal to the metal all the way for the high-octane series as it has struggled to gain traction on the domestic front.
Internationally, Fast X has delivered with its current box office standing at just under $480 million, but when it comes to its domestic haul it has been much less than expected, especially considering the budget and hype around it. The film has taken $129 million in the U.S. but is now seeing its earning potential fade away very quickly compared to other movies in the franchise. That means that it is...

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Fast X!Gal Gadot's return as Gisele in Fast X was a surprise and brought up many questions that need to be answered by Fast & Furious 11. The saga's writers and director need to answer the question of how she survived the fall from the airplane runway in Fast 6. Realism and Fast & Furious haven't gone exactly hand in hand. Dom Toretto's crew have jumped out of skyscrapers, conducted ridiculous heists, and have even driven a car in outer space. Characters have emerged from impossible situations alive and also been brought back from the dead, including Letty Ortiz, Owen Shaw, and Han Lue. Fast X has now resurrected Gal Gadot's character, Gisele Yashar, after she fell to her death in 2013's Fast & Furious 6.
Despite having fallen from a plane in midair, Gisele appeared not to have sustained any permanent injuries. She was absent from the three films following Fast & Furious 6 (four including Tokyo Drift), during which she was not in contact with Dom's crew. With her sudden revival, the Fast & Furious franchise has reminded fans to not overthink the films and to simply enjoy the ride. But for those who need an explanation for Gisele's return,...

With the franchise's future ties to its past still largely unknown, James Wan reveals he made changes to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to fit James Gunn's new DC Universe. When DC Universe fans head to theaters later this month to watch The Flash, there's a good chance they'll see Jason Momoa's Aquaman belting out a tune at some point during the superhero movie.
On the Reddit DC_Cinematic, a fan shared the soundtrack album credits for The Flash, which revealed that Momoa would be performing a song titled "I'm A Sailor." John Williams' Superman Theme, Danny Elfman's Batman Theme and Hans Zimmer's Wonder Woman Theme were also listed. While Momoa was previously rumored to have filmed a cameo for The Flash, his return had not yet been officially confirmed by Warner Bros. or DC, meaning that this is the best indication yet that the actor will be back as Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the long-awaited superhero movie.

Actress Gal Gadot shared that every time she acts, she doubts herself and worries no one will like what she’s doing.
“It’s funny, I always feel like I have this imposter syndrome, because I feel so lucky and I’m so happy that I get to do what I really, really, really love. I always feel like, ‘I hope they’re gonna like it’. There’s never a moment when I’m like, ‘They’re gonna love this’,” she said in a cover interview with L’Officiel magazine, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The 38-year-old actress also shared the one piece of advice that has helped her with the psychological disorder that makes people feel a fraud.
Recalling a conversation with Hollywood director Francis Ford Coppola, 84, the actress said: “Francis said, ‘You know, something? I’m always filled with doubts. I’m always afraid they’re not going to like it.

Daniela Melchior, who plays Isabel in Fast X, opens up about what the franchise has in store for her character. The Fast and Furious franchise has a prolific cast, with Fast X adding new talent in Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Jason Momoa, and Melchior. Melchior plays Isabel, a street racer Dom encounters in Brazil who is revealed to be the sister of Elsa Pataky's Elena, who met her demise in The Fate of the Furious. And while Isabel's screen time in Fast X is short, she is the aunt of young Bryan, making her yet another member of Dom's ever-growing family.
While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Melchior discussed what Isabel's future after Fast X could potentially entail. Given that her character is family, she inquired about motivations and what she knew of her sister's death, helping to fit into the feel of the franchise. According to the actor,...

Warning: Spoilers for Fast X
Fans were shocked and delighted to see Luke Hobbs (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) show up in Fast X's post-credit scene, but his return means that Fast & Furious 11 has to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past. The Rock initially joined the high-octane world of Fast & Furious in Fast Five, but as the series progressed, whispers of a rumored feud between him and co-star Vin Diesel began to circulate. Regrettably, this long-standing tension between the two iconic actors reached its pinnacle during the eighth installment, The Fate of the Furious, which subsequently had a detrimental impact on the ninth chapter, F9.
The public fallout between the two stars inevitably overshadowed the storytelling within the later movies, hindering the overall storytelling in The Fate of the Furious and F9. As Fast & Furious 11 gains momentum, the challenge lies in ensuring that the return of Luke Hobbs...

Take a look at new images of "Wonder Woman" actress Gal Gadot in the latest issue of “L’Officiel” magazine, photographed by Celeste Sloman:
"I love language, and sometimes it's frustrating that I live my life in English now," said Gadot. "I dream in English but still don't have the language completely embedded within me. Whenever I get frustrated, I'm like, 'I'm still an immigrant'.
"I always look at the glass as half full...It took time to adjust to Hollywood — to understand the behavior, to read people, to be more polite. I come from a culture where we don't have filters. We say what we think, good and bad. My parents didn't raise me to be the star of the family or to become famous. I didn't think I was going to be an actress.
"By the time I got 'Wonder Woman', I knew what to expect.

The Flash will be the bridge between the Dceu and the new DC Universe, but James Gunn already revealed that it won't reset the franchise completely from scratch. The birth of a new DC Universe leaves behind the baggage that kept new DC projects from reaching their full potential. In order to ease the audience into it, The Flash will use the concept of the multiverse to rewrite reality and make it possible for a new set of characters to take over. However, this doesn't mean that The Flash will erase the entire Dceu from existence.
The slate for the first chapter of James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe, "Gods and Monsters", includes the DC live-action series Waller, starring Viola Davis as the titular anti-hero Amanda Waller, who she played in the Dceu's Suicide Squad movies. Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Fast X.
Fast X hilariously called out a Fast & Furious villain trope that has been part of the franchise for at least six movies. The latest Fast & Furious film revisited Fast Five (2011), arguably the turning point for the Fast Saga in terms of budget and box office, through Jason Momoa’s Dante Reyes. By retconning Fast Five, Fast X crafted a unique villain who does not seem interested in a future redemption arc.
Dante Reyes was a breath of fresh air for the Fast Saga, as recent Fast & Furious villains had been just more of the same. There seemed to be no stakes for the Fast & Furious antagonists, mostly because they would often be redeemed anyway. Dwayne Johnson's Hobbs, for example. Now, Fast & Furious finally addressed this problem, in-universe.

Former Superman actor Henry Cavill has seen DC's upcoming movie release, The Flash, and has a strong opinion about the film. Cavill played Superman in the old Dceu but has since left the role due to DC moving into a new direction, both for its universe and Clark Kent, with James Gunn's Superman: Legacy, which focuses on a younger version of the Man of Steel. Cavill might be out as Superman, but the actor remains interested in DC, with Cavill having watched The Flash.

The main characters in the Fast & Furious franchise are reimagined as children in a new batch of slightly eerie AI-generated images. The first Fast & Furious movie was released in 2001, introducing audiences to Vin Diesel's Dom, Paul Walker's Brian, Michelle Rodriguez's Letty, and Jordana Brewster's Mia. The franchise has since grown in scale and scope, now featuring more over-the-top action sequences and a much bigger cast.

Gal Gadot returned as Gisele in Fast X, meaning that Fast & Furious 11 can finally give justice to Han. After retconning The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift's timeline to have multiple movies set before Han’s death, Fast & Furious decided to bring Sung Kang’s character back from the dead definitively in F9. However, despite his return in F9, Fast & Furious has yet to give justice to Han after how the films handled his story and the consequences of his fake death.
Han stole the show in Tokyo Drift, and the decision to bring him back for Fast & Furious, Fast Five, and Fast & Furious 6 despite the timeline inconsistencies was never questioned. However, Gisele’s death in Fast & Furious 6 followed by Dominic Toretto becoming friends with Deckard Shaw way too quickly led audiences to call for “justice for Han.

Vin Diesel’s cut sleeves and Dodge Charger are iconic staples in The Fast and Furious movies, but nothing is more sacred than when Vin Diesel says "family." Fast X recently premiered, and while the bombastic action stunts have grown more ludicrous, the core of the franchise is still about family. Dominic Toretto and his team of skilled drivers have achieved impossible stunts and turned enemies into friends within each movie. Due to the growing ensemble cast and the movies’ emphasis on family, one might wonder how many times Vin Diesel actually mentions the word "family" in every Fast and Furious movie.

The following contains spoilers for Fast X, now playing in theaters.
One of the things Fast X promised was a lot of casualties. It's a smart move that makes Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) a very intimidating villain in his The Fast and the Furious franchise debut. After all, he wants revenge for Dom's crew killing his father, Hernan, in Fast Five.
In Fast X, Dante does raise a lot of hell, reminding the Fast & Furious street racers about consequences for one's actions. It leads to a series of heartbreaking deaths in the finale, with Dante using a secret ally. However, a stunning resurrection in the final scene undoes all of Dante's work from a creative standpoint. This effectively makes Dante a less threatening villain, capping the film in an underwhelming manner.

For some time, there's been chatter about a female-driven Fast & Furious spinoff. Admittedly, the main franchise has been very male-oriented. Yet despite the testosterone levels being so high, women like Letty and Mia Toretto have come to the fore in big moments.
Without them, Dom's team would have lost quite a few wars, so there's ample reason to call for more diversity and representation. Thankfully, that inclusivity is back in play, with news that extra projects are back in development. Interestingly, in Fast X's explosive ending, the road has been paved for a female-led prequel to be told, smartly padding the future of the property.

The Justice League is DC's premiere team, and both the Arrowverse and the old Dceu had their own versions of the iconic superhero squad - but one of them might have been better than the other. The Arrowverse started all the way back in 2012 with Stephen Amell's Arrow. Oliver Queen would remain the touchstone of the Arrowverse for several years, with Arrow giving way to multiple spinoffs that helped the Arrowverse to become DC's best-handled live-action universe. Recently, the Arrowverse ended with The Flash's series finale, as all the other shows had either finished their runs, been canceled, or retconned out of the Arrowverse — in Superman & Lois' case.
Before ending, the Arrowverse managed to set up its version of the Justice League. That iteration of DC's premiere team came after the cinematic side had already assembled its premiere squad. The Dceu Justice League came to be formed in...

There are more than a dozen Disney live-action remakes in development. That's hardly surprising given how much success the recent reimaginings of their classic animated movies have seen. It seems Disney will continue to explore its beloved IP and offer up original live-action interpretations for many years to come — as well as the spin-offs and television series that may come with that. Starting with 2016's live-action The Jungle Book, Disney has been steadily reworking their back catalog of animated features into new, CGI-laden live-action offerings.
In 2017, Beauty and the Beast grossed over $1.2 billion at the global box office, while The Jungle Book was met with very favorable reviews upon its release in 2016 and pulled in an impressive $966 million worldwide. Aladdin earned $1 billion after mass skepticism. Cinderella, Maleficent, and Pete's Dragon have also seen success, and while initially the thought of Disney remaking nearly their entire back catalog was worrying, most...

Warner Bros. and DC Studios are looking at a possible lower-than-expected opening for the Ezra Miller-led The Flash.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming superhero movie is tracking to open in the $70 million range. While that number is on the low end, box office insiders have noted that The Flash's hold once it opens will be more important in determining the film's success than its opening weekend gross. It is worth pointing out that Aquaman opened to just $67.8 million in 2018, but managed to leg out to $335 million domestically. Globally, Aquaman ended its box office run with $1.148 million. The best opening for a DC Extended Universe movie remains Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opened to $166 million back in 2016.

Rebel Wilson, who is best known for playing Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect trilogy, recently shared that she auditioned for a role in the next James Bond movie.
Speaking with Variety at the Cannes Film Festival, Wilson revealed that she was invited to audition for the 26th Bond film after the franchise's producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson saw her host the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards. "What was really cool was getting to audition for Bond," said Wilson. While the actor remained silent on which character she tried out for, she stressed that it wasn't the titular spy. She also refused to divulge if the audition was successful. However, given how secretive Broccoli and Wilson are with the Bond franchise, it is unlikely they would have allowed Wilson to discuss her audition if she had landed one of the roles in the next installment.
