Per The Direct, in the clip -- which has since been removed by Warner Bros. on copyright grounds -- Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) is in line at a sandwich shop when he gets an urgent call from Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy Irons) requesting The Flash's assistance in Gotham. After Barry asks if Superman can come to the rescue instead, Alfred replies, "That was my first thought. Sadly, he’s otherwise engaged." The clip then cuts to a news report on TV showing Superman using his heat vision to seal off an erupting volcano in Guatemala.

Just weeks after it seemed like the Fast X sequel would get pushed back, Vin Diesel has now confirmed the news.

We reported last week that Dwayne Johnson announced his Fast & Furious return and revealed he’ll star in a new film that would bridge the stories between Fast X and Fast X Part 2.

In a new social media post, Vin Diesel shared a photo with Fast X co-star Jason Momoa and announced a new April 2025 release date, pushing back the reportedly final instalment in the mainline series from its rumored 2024 date.

Diesel also took a moment to squash the growing rumors of beef between Momoa and himself. Diesel writes, “Jason wanted to try something totally unique and special and ended up creating a scene-stealing character that the world won’t forget.”

To clarify, that doesn’t mean I feel that this film should have been shelved due to star Ezra Miller’s highly problematic real-life behavior, which they have sought mental help to correct.

The Flash is coming at an interesting time for the superhero genre. In the same year when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 reminded audiences how high the genre can swing, more muted responses to films like Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania have raised the possibility that the genre might be in decline. Luckily, The Flash. A well-produced, consistently funny, and surprisingly emotional roller coaster ride, making it one of the best DC Extended Universe films that tells a grounded, emotional story amidst a multiversal threat.

Per ComicBook.com, Hodge claimed he is more than willing to portray Hawkman in the Dcu, with the Black Adam star stating that he was only waiting for Gunn to call on him. In order to ease the audience into it, The Flash will use the concept of the multiverse to rewrite reality and make it possible for a new set of characters to take over. However, this doesn't mean that The Flash will erase the entire Dceu from existence.

Fast X hilariously called out a Fast & Furious villain trope that has been part of the franchise for at least six movies. The latest Fast & Furious film revisited Fast Five (2011), arguably the turning point for the Fast Saga in terms of budget and box office, through Jason Momoa’s Dante Reyes. By retconning Fast Five, Fast X crafted a unique villain who does not seem interested in a future redemption arc.

Dante Reyes was a breath of fresh air for the Fast Saga, as recent Fast & Furious villains had been just more of the same. There seemed to be no stakes for the Fast & Furious antagonists, mostly because they would often be redeemed anyway. Dwayne Johnson's Hobbs, for example. Now, Fast & Furious finally addressed this problem, in-universe.

Fast X Calls Out How Fast & Furious Villains...

Former Superman actor Henry Cavill has seen DC's upcoming movie release, The Flash, and has a strong opinion about the film. Cavill played Superman in the old Dceu but has since left the role due to DC moving into a new direction, both for its universe and Clark Kent, with James Gunn's Superman: Legacy, which focuses on a younger version of the Man of Steel. Cavill might be out as Superman, but the actor remains interested in DC, with Cavill having watched The Flash.

During The Flash's press conference, Supergirl actress Sasha Calle revealed to @HablemosdecineX that Cavill has seen The Flash and loved the movie.

The main characters in the Fast & Furious franchise are reimagined as children in a new batch of slightly eerie AI-generated images. One of the things Fast X promised was a lot of casualties. It's a smart move that makes Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) a very intimidating villain in his The Fast and the Furious franchise debut. After all, he wants revenge for Dom's crew killing his father, Hernan, in Fast Five.

In Fast X, Dante does raise a lot of hell, reminding the Fast & Furious street racers about consequences for one's actions. It leads to a series of heartbreaking deaths in the finale, with Dante using a secret ally. However, a stunning resurrection in the final scene undoes all of Dante's work from a creative standpoint. This effectively makes Dante a less threatening villain, capping the film in an underwhelming manner.

Warner Bros. and DC Studios are looking at a possible lower-than-expected opening for the Ezra Miller-led The Flash.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming superhero movie is tracking to open in the $70 million range. While that number is on the low end, box office insiders have noted that The Flash's hold once it opens will be more important in determining the film's success than its opening weekend gross. It is worth pointing out that Aquaman opened to just $67.8 million in 2018, but managed to leg out to $335 million domestically. Globally, Aquaman ended its box office run with $1.148 million. The best opening for a DC Extended Universe movie remains Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opened to $166 million back in 2016.

Rebel Wilson, who is best known for playing Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect trilogy, recently shared that she auditioned for a role in the next James Bond movie.

Speaking with Variety at the Cannes Film Festival, Wilson revealed that she was invited to audition for the 26th Bond film after the franchise's producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson saw her host the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards. "What was really cool was getting to audition for Bond," said Wilson. While the actor remained silent on which character she tried out for, she stressed that it wasn't the titular spy. She also refused to divulge if the audition was successful. However, given how secretive Broccoli and Wilson are with the Bond franchise, it is unlikely they would have allowed Wilson to discuss her audition if she had landed one of the roles in the next installment.
