MAXIM LANGSTAFF is an award-winning writer and producer whose creative and editorial work in print, TV, film, and music, has reached hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Published by Gannett, The New York Times, Family Circle Magazine, and Wildlife Conservation Magazine among others, he has been a presenter at the Breadloaf Writer's Conference and is a regular lecturer at numerous Universities.
Max was the creator, writer, and executive producer for both the Grammy, Emmy, Realscreen, & Film Critics Award nominated PBS TV Series and Companion book Soundbreaking and On Record: The Soundtrack of Our Lives; one of the largest multi-media documentary projects ever undertaken. He produced The Making of Sergeant Pepper with legendary producer Sir George Martin, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Phil Collins. He wrote, directed, and produced the most comprehensive filmed Beatle story through the eyes of the man who signed and produced all of their recordings.

Well known for his acclaimed work with John Denver, Max created, wrote and produced the Emmy and Grammy nominated Wildlife Concert, spawning the highest rated music program in cable TV history, a multi-million-selling CD set, and some of the best selling music video content ever released by Sony, topping Michael Jackson, the Eagles and Barbra Streisand on the Billboard Charts. It remains, today, one of the most successful prime-time pledge programs in PBS's history. Max followed this with The Best of John Denver Live, which topped both the pop and country music charts.
Projects he has produced have been distributed by PBS, A&E, SONY, EMI, Capitol, Disney, and RYKO among others. His diverse award-winning work in film and music extends to "Best Film" at the International Wildlife Film festival, and the "Parents Choice Award" for The Jackfish.
As creator, writer, and host for the radio program Off The Charts, he has reached worldwide audiences through live broadcast (WERU-FM) and streaming.
In association with the Wildlife Conservation Society, he helped achieve the largest ($100mm) fundraising effort ever undertaken for wildlife conservation. In his spare time he is likely to be found on a wilderness river or mountain trail. He lives in North Carolina.
A published poet, performer, and member of the Writer's Guild, he is recognized one of the leading experts on the history of recorded music. Max has served on a number of boards, including the Northeast Film Board, Revels, Inc., A.E. Howell Wildlife Refuge and Rehabilitation Center, and the Deertrees Foundation. And Millenia Music
His great uncle is the Pulitzer winning playwright, Sidney Howard, who wrote the script for "Gone With The Wind". His great grandfather was film pioneer/inventor, Hiram Maxim, founder of the Amateur Film League.
A graduate of the Putney School, Connecticut College, the National Theater Institute, and Breadloaf Writers Program. He currently lives in North Carolina.
A three-time Boston Marathoner, In his free time, he is likely to be found on a wilderness river or mountain trail.
