Hong-hu Ada

Hong-hu Ada is an actress, English mother tongue, best known for her
starring roles in the films "Mary"and "Go go Tales" by Abel Ferrara,
"Il figlio più piccolo" and "Il papa di Giovanna" by Pupi Avati, "Ice
Age 4: Continental Drift" just to name a few. Hong-hu Ada grew up in
the United States. She spent her early childhood in the USA speaking
English as her native language, but she was born in Italy to a Japanese
father and Italian mother. In fact, she is an Italian-Japanese actress,
but her grandfather was from Haiti. Hong-hu Ada began learning her
craft in the theatre performing the drama of Shakespeare, Milton and
Keats at the age of 6 years old. However, it wasn't' until she landed
small roles in several films in USA at the age of 18 that she
discovered acting was the love of her life. She is graduated from New
York Film Academy and was immediately cast as Juliet in the Broadway
production of " Romeo and Juliet" in Broadway, and later won the role
of Varja in " Cherry Orchard" by A. Cechov. Following her work on
Broadway American director Abel Ferrara cast her for his film "Mary"
with Juliette Binoche and then later in "Go Go Tales" shot in Rome and
New York. Italian director Pupi Avati reached out to Hong-hu and
invited her to work on two films: "Il papa di Giovanna" in 2008 and in
" Il figlio più piccolo" in 2009. She worked in other movies like "Time
Killer", "The border crime" and in "Habemus Papam" by Nanni Moretti.
Her big break came in 2011 when she was cast as the leading actress in
the western film "Shuna, the Legend" by Emiliano Ferrera. The film set
in 1870s, New Mexico, tells the story of the Comanche, a tribe of
natives, who were being persecuted for the control of their territory.
The lone survivor was a young woman named Shuna, who vows revenge again
those responsible for her tribe's genocide. She becomes a warrior known
throughout the West. For this role, Hong-hu learned to ride without a
saddle and learned to shoot with the sawed-off shotgun. In the
following year, 20th Century Fox cast her as the voice of the leading
character Shira, the tigress, in the Animated Movie "Ice Age 4:
Continental Drift"(for the Italian version) by Steve Martino and Mike
Thurmeier. The 20th Century Fox also asked Hong-hu to sing her
character's parts in the movie's entire soundtrack of the Ice Age 4.
Around this time the 20th Century Fox cast her in the leading role of
"Viper" in "X Men-The Wolverine" starring with Hugh Jackman .
Unfortunately, the project changed director and script, and the film
was re-cast. The season 2013/2014 the fan can watch her perform at
Covent Garden in London as the protagonist Cordelia in the theatrical
production of William Shakespeare "King Lear". Hong-hu Ada plays piano
and koto, a particular Japanese instrument. She speaks 6 languages
fluently, she is also graduated in Political Science from University
and people also know her as a great singer, composer and songwriter.
She has released 3 albums and two singles in USA and Italy. She sang on
several film soundtracks and animated movies. Always focused on charity
events she works tenaciously for the defense of "Human Right" and
humanitarian campaigns for World hunger.
