'Tron 3' Eyes October Start, is It Titled 'Tron: Ascension'c

I was not a huge fan of Tron: Legacy, but one thing I will say for it is I really enjoyed where it ended. In fact, as much as I thought the film itself was a bit of a dud, had it continued on for another two hours I think they might have had one hell of a great four hour film on their hands. That said, have you heard the news Tron 3 is looking at beginning production in Vancouver this Fallc Word broke earlier this month that Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy, Oblivion) was returning to direct after news first surfaced in the VanCity Buzz and seemed to be later confirmed by the trades. I reached out to Disney and they gave me the "we have no idea" response so I didn't write much else about it. However, today Production Weekly sent out a tweet reporting once again that

Net Crawl: Woah! Awesome Fan Made Tron Legacy Sequel Trailer!

As Disney figures out the details of what they’ll be doing in the upcoming Untitled Tron Legacy Sequel, fans are getting anxious and some have created an unbelievably impressive trailer for the third movie called Tron: Destiny. The trailer involves grad students at a college experimenting with codes, quantum computing and of course hacking. The hacking leads to one of them building the derezzer, but instead of sending people into the grid, it is sending them out of it, including a lightcyle for joyriding but also someone you’d never expect. I am not going to lie, this is one of the best fan made films I have seen.

Let’s not forget that Tron Legacy was born out of a combination of a pitch trailer and early Comic Con buzz based on the short. Who is to say the sequel may not end up the same way?

How long did it take to get the green light for Tron: Legacy?

Steven Lisberger: We started discussions at Disney about 11 years ago, but there have been rumors of a sequel for much longer than that. Over the years, I've seen numerous Disney executives go from black hair to grey - and the sequel itself has changed and gone through many different phases. When the

Tron 3 Teaser Trailer Coming Soon!

Tron 3 Teaser Trailer Coming Soon!
Someone that worked on the shoot for DVD/Blu-ray extras for Tron: Legacy has contacted Ain't It Cool with the news that the releases will contain three short clips that will serve as teasers for Tron 3.

"One includes Bruce Boxleitner (as Alan) and Dan Shor (as Ram). Turns out that "Ram" was apparently running the Flynn Lives campaign and he's frantically destroying all of that data and files, as Alan confronts him. Dan apparently utters the line, "Why did Kevin give you the cool name" - which means to my way of thinking that after Flynn came out of the Grid, he sought out the human soul of Ram and befriended him and started calling him Ram - you know - some geek that wrote that Actuarial Program that helped people plan for the future. I sorta love that. And love that the kindness Flynn showed this lowly geek, apparently

Tron: Legacy Review

Tron: Legacy almost operates as a litmus test for how much we will tolerate in our tent-pole filmmaking. Just how much bad dialogue, poor acting, inexplicable plotting, and emotionally-vapid characterizations will we accept as long as we’ve been convinced that the film is “cool”? How little actual content will we demand in exchange for $300 million light shows disguised as motion pictures? We casually accept seemingly intentional mediocrity in our franchise films, from The Flintstones to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, holding our nose but making these films into smash hits.

I am reminded of Patrick Stewart’s monologue towards the end of Star Trek: First Contact. “The line must be drawn here. This far, and no further.” If we as moviegoers accept this artless, soulless confection as a suitable example of big-budget filmmaking, then we deserve everything we get in the following years. The apparent absence of any attempt

Film Review: Lopsided ‘Tron: Legacy’ is Heavy on Visuals, Light on Humanity

Chicago – Every great film is a delicate balance of a number of critical elements. Good films lack in one department while mediocre films have serious gaps that stick out like a red dress at a funeral. The overall mediocre “Tron: Legacy” is exceedingly fixated on its impressive visual effects while neglecting to focus on creating an evocative and humanized story.

Rating: 3.0/5.0

Despite its big-budget use of special effects, you aren’t emotionally connected to its characters or plot. Following the ahead-of-its-time 1982 film “Tron” with Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner, Bridges reprises his roles in 2010’s “Tron: Legacy” with the duality of both Kevin Flynn and Clu. Boxleitner also returns as both Alan Bradley and Tron.

Perhaps surprisingly for some, “Tron: Legacy” is less about the actual character that is Tron and is much more focused on Jeff Bridges’ characters along with his son, Sam Flynn (played by Garrett Hedlund). And
