A native of Lyon, the birthplace of Cinema, David Fakrikian moves to Paris at the age of 22 where he becomes a regular comic-books and VFX in films reviewer for USA Magazine and S.F.X. magazine.
In 1999 he creates and becomes editor in chief of DVDvision, the first magazine in the world to offer a DVD in each issue, producing up to 400 films interviews and films documentaries, as well as directing 70, over a period of 5 years.
Passionate about film restoration work, he also supervises director's cut reconstructions, color timing and High-Definition transfers for directors like Tony Scott (True Romance unrated cut) and Christophe Gans, (Crying Freeman, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Necronomicon), as well as directing bonus content.
On march 31, 2017, he releases his first book, about his favorite filmmaker James Cameron, "A filmmaker's Odyssey". The book was published by Editions Huginn & Muninn in France, to critical acclaim.
He regularly appears in France's Premiere and Premiere Classics film magazines, writing essays and interviews.
