Spice Greene is a producer and writer/director who has been in the entertainment business for over 30 years. He was born April 14, 1966 in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York where his parents named him Kevin K. Greene. He has one son and seven siblings. His father, Edgar Johnson, is a former U.S. Marine and artist who frequented New York City's Bronx zoo to paint exotic animals. His mother, Thelma Greene, is a former stenographer for New York States' criminal courts who became a full time single parent and caregiver to his younger brother who suffered from a kidney disease. Both of his parents are of Native American and African-American descent with both families originate from the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton, Suffolk County, Long Island, NY. Growing up, trips to the reservation and ceremonial pow wows with his co-parenting grandmother, Helen Jones, had a great influence on his many artistic talents. Those talents took center stage at age 9 when he booked his first acting job on an episode of Romper Room (1972). His love for performing was matched by his interest in the filmmakers who were in every direction contributing to what he called a story. He returned home to begin creating his own stories, otherworldly adventures inspired by images and experiences from the pow wows, all told in self-made comic books with drawings and narratives that were beyond his years.

After serving in the U.S. military he studied in college but would leave early to pursue a music career. While short lived, he wrote, produced and performed the European classic "Pound on You" (1989) and became well known by the stage name "Spice," which was a childhood nickname given because of his premature gray hair. His experience on the Romper Room soundstage never left him, and film and television eventually became his first love. He abandoned music and became determined to become a professional writer/producer. The pursuit of his dream lead to several jobs on movie sets. Among them were barber/hairstylist for Who's the Man? (1993) starring Ed Lover, Doctor Dré, Bernie Mac and Denis Leary, and actor, cast as a henchman on Fox Television's New York Undercover (1994) starring Malik Yoba and Michael DeLorenzo.

His continued writing lead to self-produced ultra-low budget urban films, and in 2003, as an unknown writer he received an award from NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg for his literary contribution to the popular book "Souls of My Brothers." The co-writers included Busta Rhymes, NFL wide receiver Keenan McCardell, Congressman Gregory Meeks, Coolio, music mogul Bryan "Birdman" Williams and many other celebrities, athletes and politicians. He then received a co-producer's credit for The Hip Hop Project (2006) and while promoting the film he had the opportunity to meet the film's executive producers Bruce Willis and Queen Latifah. His experience with them was life changing and lead to a decision to be true to himself. His love for otherworldly stories had returned with an agenda to write and develop signature projects with plot twists and complex characters. He would do only one other urban movie, The Eddie Black Story (2009) directed by Shawn Baker, starring Fredro Starr and Chyna Layne, which he wrote its original screenplay and formed Boss Entertainment US, Inc. to produce it. He then put his newfound agenda on hold to work closely with Mona Scott-Young at Violator Management where they wrote, developed and pitched film and television projects to networks and studios. Many of those projects included collaborative efforts with Overbrook Entertainment, BET, MTV, and Flavor Unit Entertainment. This was a learning experience that developed him into a businessman and evolved screenwriter. In 2012, ready to embrace the stories he loved as a boy, Kevin formed IME Global Inc., d/b/a ImaginNation Media Entertainment, a film, television and branded content production company that has a special interest in sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, thriller and supernatural genres.

In 2013 he saw Disney-ABC as a like-minded network/studio and pursued it for a writing deal. His efforts were supported by Chris Rock, Mona Scott-Young and Tracy Christian, when they submitted strong letters of recommendation. His film and television projects now in development are Chocolate Ties, Interview with a Banger, Mea huna, Blood of the Lamb and Achilleus.

I'm too humble to compare myself to such icons but I do take pride in saying that I'm working hard at creating my own lane by authoring literary works that have clever plots and twists that will one day become my signature.
