As we enter the final stretch of 2024, Hulu is turning up the scare factor with a trio of must-see horror movies dropping on its platform this December. These films were all released in theaters this year. If you didn't get the chance to see any of them then, you will get to watch them from the comfort of your home very soon.
Cuckoo
Leading the pack is the Neon horror flick Cuckoo. Tilman Singer, who is best known for being behind the German supernatural horror film Luz, wrote the script and directed the movie. It stars Euphoria's Hunter Schafer as a teenage girl named Gretchen, who, after being forced to live with her father at a resort in the German Alps, starts experiencing bizarre occurrences and eerie visions. She soon realizes that the seemingly perfect resort hides dark secrets and that her life is in grave danger.

We caught up with actor and producer Marc Senter over the weekend to chat with him regarding his role in Grace director Paul Solet’s BlackBoxTV short Going Down as well as his growing musical inclinations and more. Read on!
Senter, who came to horror audiences’ attention with his starring role of “Ray Pye” in Chris Sivertson’s 2006 indie darling The Lost, and who subsequently has appeared in Darren Lynn Bousman’s The Devil’s Carnival and Simon Rumley’s Red, White & Blue, riffed on his collaboration with Solet on the Angel Heart’esque Going Down.
“Paul and I met a handful of years back,” said Senter, who portrays “Gunther Clearly” opposite actress Dinora Walcott in Going Down, of the collaboration. “We've wanted to work together for a while now so it was a blast finally getting the opportunity to do so. Aside from being a great director, Paul's also a really positive guy.

Paul Solet's been keeping busy since directing Grace. Lately, he's been dabbling in photography, however, recently he directed a short film called Going Down for Black Box TV. You can watch this bite-sized tale inside.
The film stars Marc Senter (The Devil's Carnival) and Dinora Walcott (Scandal, Midnight Movie). The synopsis goes as such: Gunther Cleary has his whole day mapped out, but a simple elevator ride shows him that life doesn't always go as planned.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. Like, what's more off-putting than an elevator ride? It's claustrophobic; you're trapped in a tiny box with strange people. Any number of bad things can happen. And that's the premise behind a dastardly short entitled Going Down.
Directed by Paul Solet, Going Down was shot in one day and edited in three, and it's a testament to what can be done with minimal time and resources. It's a truly effective vehicle, and the whole thing takes about five minutes. Nicely done. The film stars the amazing Marc Senter and Dinora Walcott with a score by Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory.

Sometimes things get a bit lost in the shuffle on this writer’s desk, although I’d be remiss to not finally deliver a bit of exclusive news, video, and photos from the premiere of director Jack Messitt’s Midnight Movie: The Killer Cut, which took place earlier this month in Westwood, California. Read on!
Originally released on January 6, 2009, the extended and VFX enhanced "The Killer Cut" version of Midnight Movie bows to DVD this coming June 14 via Bigfoot Entertainment, and on hand for the flick’s Bigfoot Crest Theatre red carpet premiere were cast members Brea Grant, Rebekah Brandes, Daniel Bonjour, Dinora Walcott, Ashley Black and Christopher Page, who started the night off with a pub crawl at Westwood Brew Co. Joining them in the festivities were writer and director Jack Messitt, Bigfoot Entertainment chairman Michael Gleissner, Bigfoot Entertainment's CEO Kacy Andrews (and producer of Midnight Movie) and many more.

Jack Messitt's Midnight Movie is making it's debut on Blu-Ray today and to celebrate we've been provided with an exclusive clip from the movie. (One that the director cites as one of his favorite kills in the flick!) The Blu-Ray FX featurette shows this particular scene without the added electric bolts so you can really see the great make-up effects work executed by Lunar Effects. In Midnight Movie , a midnight showing of an early 1970's horror movie turns to chaos when the Killer from the movie comes out of the film to attack those in the theater. Directed by Messitt from a script co-written with Mark Garbett, Midnight Movie stars Daniel Bonjour, Michael Swan, Arthur Roberts, Dinora Walcott, Brea Grant, Rebekah Brandes, Ashley Black, Michael Schwartz, Kathryn Aagesen and...

A play loosely inspired by the La-area mother who had octotuplets opened last Saturday to standing-room only crowds in Los Angeles. The so-called Octomom is not the only character skewered in the zany musical: other include Bernie Madoff, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, Vince Shamwow (of magic towel fame) and even Octomom’s fertility doctor, who has a mad and somewhat creepy crush on her.
The show has garnered enormous publicity, even including a segment on the CBS Early Show, and generally strong reviews. The two opening night performances were sold out, as is half of the five-weekend run of the show.
I saw the show and loved it. In fact, the entire audience was laughing and applauding throughout the show. Full disclosure: I’m not an objective observer, since I’m legal counsel for the play. So, go to the show’s website to read the independent reviews, and...
