WWE Clash of Champions Predictions

Liam Hoofe with his predictions for this Sunday’s WWE Clash of Champions Event…

WWE will give us its final pay-per-view event of the year this Sunday night when WWE SmackDown presents ‘Clash of Champions.’ The event, an old WCW favourite, will see every one of SmackDown’s titles defended and will be a big indication of who will be heading into WrestleMania season with gold around their waist. The company has been fairly consistent with their events this year so can Clash of Champions see out 2017 quite nicely? Let’s take a look at each match and predict who is walking away victorious Sunday night.

Pre-Show: Zack Ryder Vs Mojo Rawley

Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley have done very little to build this feud since the duo broke up on SmackDown a few weeks back. With it being the only match on the pre-show, though, it will likely get

Wrestling Daily News Roundup – Changes Made to Clash of Champions Card, Former Impact Star Set to Make his WWE Debut, Nxt Star Debut Date Revealed

Liam Hoofe with a round-up of the latest wrestling news…

Changes Made to Clash of Champions Card

On last night’s Clash of Champions go home edition of Smackdown [read our review here], Daniel Bryan added himself as the second referee for the Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Vs Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton bout. Also added to the Clash of Champions card were a match between The Bludgeon Brothers and The Fashion Files, and a pre-show match between Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley.

The addition of Bryan to the tag-team match will having many fans speculating as to whether or not Bryan is going to turn heel this weekend, but expect there to just be plenty of confusion over the finish with Bryan counting the victory for the heel team. It remains unclear as to whether or not Bryan will be able to return to the ring in 2018, so expect this storyline to

Wrestling Daily News Roundup – New Us Title Belt!?, Smackdown Tag Team Splits, Asuka Sets Some Records

Liam Hoofe with a round-up of the latest wrestling news…

New Us Title Design

Over the last few years, the WWE has set about redesigning all of their titles, often to a very negative reaction from the WWE universe. Well, it looks as though the next belt to receive a makeover will be the Us title, with the Florence Civic Centre, which is hosting a WWE show on the 20th January sharing this image on their Facebook page.

While the new belt design, if that is what it is, is actually quite nice, I’m a big fan of the current Us belt and I don’t feel as though it needed changing. New belts often come with new champions, though, so could Baron Corbin be dropping the belt to Roode at Clash of Champions? This could be nothing, but it seems unlikely that a venue would just change a title for their promotional images.

Paige sex tape joke, John Cena returns – WWE Smackdown Live, July 4, 2017 review

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

John Cena Returns

John Cena’s long-hyped, big WWE return segment was…a promo like most other John Cena promos.

John Cena loves two things: America and WWE. So coming back to Smackdown on Independence Day was effectively his birthday.

But his homecoming speech was ruined by Rusev’s Smackdown Live debut, who proceeded to cut an anti-usa promo. Making Smackdown not just the land of opportunity, but also the land of outdated foreign heel gimmicks.

John suggested they have a Flag match right there, but the fight was made for Battleground instead. Just a month ago, Rusev was reportedly planned to fight Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank. Now he’s losing to Cena in a three weeks’ time in a gimmick match.

Ex Tna stars debut, Women’s Mitb match fail – WWE Money in the Bank 2017 review

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

Hype Bros beat The Colons

Zack Ryder got the winning pin for his in-ring return after seven months out with injury, tagging with Mojo Rawley to beat The Colons on the preshow. A lot of people reckon a heel turn is in their future. I personally don’t see it, mainly because the last six months of Rawley’s character development appears now not to have happened.

Women’s Money in the Bank Match

The pay-per-view’s main card, however, was opened by the first women’s Money in the Bank match in history – a landmark achievement in the ongoing ‘Women’s Revolution’, the latest accolade to put female wrestling on par with how the men’s division is treated and…it was won by a man.

Charlotte, Tamina, Becky Lynch, Carmella and Natalya worked very hard up until the finish,

Roman Reigns shoots on WWE fans, Rusev returning to WWE – WrestleTalk News

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

#PushSinCara

Life can be tough as a WWE undercard wrestler, destined for throwaway pre-show matches and never ending feuds with Titus O’Neil. But listen up, jobbers – this one simple trick will transform your career!

Rusev was previously just a former-us champion who had feuded with John Cena and Roman Reigns. But after just several months of the PushRusev hashtag on Twitter, he’s had his WWE Title feud plans scrapped in favour of Jinder Mahal, and has been split up from his real-life wife Lana!

Social media! Tell WWE which characters you’re invested in, so they can act accordingly!

Like Zack Ryder. He was once just a super-over YouTube personality, who fans enjoyed so much, they chanted for him over The Rock! Now with the power of getting yourself over, he’s in a

Who will win Money In The Bank? Zack Ryder returns! – WWE Smackdown Live, June 13, 2017 review

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

New Day & Breezeango beat The Usos & The Colons

New Day opened Smackdown Live in quite spectacular fashion – being accompanied down to the ring by a New Orleans brass band, a neat way to promote next year’s Wrestlemania in the city. The Usos, Breezeango and the Colons soon all interrupted them, and before you know it, holla holla, playas – we got an 8 man tag.

Kofi Kingston actually made his in-ring return from injury here, wrestling his first TV match since early March. It was Xavier Woods who got the pin on Primo, though, probably meaning they’re losing to the Usos at Money in the Bank.

Zack Ryder Returns

Kingston wasn’t the only returning wrestler on Smackdown – Zack Ryder, who’s been out with injury since December, turned up backstage while his Hype Bro Mojo Rawley was being interviewed.

Wrestlemania 33 Kick-Off Show – Results & Review

It’s time once more for Wrestlemania the biggest professional wrestling and sports entertainment event for fans and performers that there is. This year the event is held in Orlando, the home of Nxt – where a lot of the current roster of superstars got their start -and as usual (at least on paper) the card doesn’t seem that great. But that’s the thing with the WWE’s biggest pay per view, there’s always surprises: especially when it comes to Wrestlemania moments…. So with that lets get into Wrestlemania 33 – starting with the usual 2-hour kick off pre-show, which this year features the Crusiserweight Championship match the the now-annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale.

Wrestlemania 33 Kick-Off Show Cruiserweight Championship Match: Austin Aries vs Neville

Aries has the upper hand early in the match, hitting a spinning elbow on Neville off the middle rope, sending him to the outside.

Sheamus injured at WWE Raw, Wrestlemania 33 surprise leaked?

‘There are more than seven billion people on this planet, and not a single one of them is as powerful as me’. No, not the words of a generic Marvel supervillain, but the words of WWE’s resident Monster Among Men Braun Strowman.

This comes from a new video uploaded to WWE’s YouTube channel of Braun Strowman’s outdoor workout, which shows him doing every day Monster Among Men things: dragging your deadly hammer through the woods, chopping down a tree with an axe, and then beating up nature and lifting its dead remains over your head.

The Braun video is so good, WWE should’ve used it on one of their actual televised shows. The same can be said for making mid-card Wrestlemania match announcements.

Raw’s interim General Manager – WWE’s official Twitter account – has already announced that the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and the

John Cena “done” after Wrestlemania, Major Nxt star call-up soon?

Big corporate mentalities and fun creative ideas don’t usually work out. Businesses understandably want to make as much money as possible through minimum risk. And because of that, their direction tends to rely on tried and tested, formulaic ideas.

But occasionally, these companies greenlight projects for a low amount of money and then forget all about them. That’s pretty much the story behind how Deadpool got made at 20th Century Fox after 11 year stuck in production development. Luckily for us wrestling fans, two creative projects appear to have slipped under WWE’s radar:

First up is Zack Ryder tweeting:

I hate when people tease things on the internet. Why don't you just say what it is? pic.twitter.com/6j6q409pso

WWE Raw & Smackdown PPV crisis, Smackdown injury updates…

I’m pretty sure Smackdown just booked a pay-per-view for their last episode of the year.

Baron Corbin was added to Dolph Ziggler and Aj Styles’ WWE Championship match.

Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton will defend their tag team championships against Slater & Rhyno, The Usos and American Alpha.

The Women’s Championship is on the line between Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss.

And John Cena is making his WWE return for the first time in over two months.

With Raw being on Boxing Day next week, and holiday episodes generally drawing lower viewing figures, Smackdown might actually beat the red brand in the ratings for the first time since the split. And then, who knows, maybe Vince McMahon will start to apply some of the same consistent logic and storyline-based feuds on Monday Nights.

Aj Styles made his in-ring return to open the show against James Ellsworth. This was originally

Ex-tna star to WWE, Samoa Joe injured, Mick Foley out of Raw…

Christmas is cancelled, everyone. Mick Foley won’t be on Raw to dress up as Santa Claus this holiday season.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Foley is taking some time off from WWE due to having hip replacement surgery. Pro Wrestling Sheet revealed that the Gm only appeared on last night’s Roadblock: End of the Line because he was already in Pittsburgh for a charity event, and he’ll also work the following episode of Raw, but then he won’t be back until January 2nd.

This most likely means no traditional appearance of Foley Claus. Which also means no angles where Alberto Del Rio runs him over.

Foley isn’t the only WWE star dealing with injuries. The Hype Bros won a battle royal to decide the Smackdown Tag Team Championships number 1 contenders last week, but Zack Ryder suffered a serious knee injury during the match.

Match 1 – The Hype Bros & American Alpha vs. The Vaudevillains & The Ascension (Pre-Show match)

As the announcers talked up how much momentum was at stake here, Aiden English of The Vaudevillains and Chad Gable of American Alpha kicked things off. Gable and Jason Jordan outwrestled English early on.

Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley maintained the babyfaces’ control, both members of The Hype Bros frustrating Viktor.

The Ascension later slowed the bout down. The duo worked well with The

WWE Smackdown 10/04/16 Review – John Cena, Aj Styles and Dean Ambrose face off, Miz TV presents a “Dolphumentary” and more

Shaun Eddleston reviews the October 4th edition of Smackdown Live!…

With just a few days to go until the next Smackdown-branded PPV No Mercy, this week’s episode of SmackDown Live! looked to hype up the event’s cards building each rivalry up further. Could Randy Orton beat Bray Wyatt’s mindgames? Would Nikki Bella get revenge on Carmella for her recent attacks? Can Baron Corbin be involved in a meaningful fued? Who would come out on top of the go-home edition of SmackDown’s main event?

Kane vs. Bray Wyatt

Just weeks removed from a match at Backlash, Kane and Bray Wyatt squared off to start this week’s broadcast.

Wyatt withstood a sidewalk slam and big Ddt, landing a uranage suplex to wrest control from the Big Red Monster.

Randy Orton appeared upside down on the Titan Tron, taunting Wyatt. This caused The Reaper of Souls to be counted out,

WWE Smackdown 09/13/16 Review – John Cena enters the WWE title picture, The Miz & Dolph Ziggler face off and more

Shaun Eddleston reviews the September 13th edition of Smackdown Live…

Just two days removed from the surprisingly solid Backlash PPV (read my review here), this week’s episode of Smackdown Live looked to crown a contender for Becky Lynch’s Womens title, a contender for Aj Styles’ WWE World Heavyweight title, and to determine what’s next for the Ic champ The Miz and Heath Slater & Rhyno’s Tag titles. Would Bray Wyatt get revenge on Randy Orton for costing him his match at Backlash? Will Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin be in something worthwhile?

Aj Styles meets his opponents for No Mercy

Aj Styles marched to the ring with the WWE World Championship around his waist. He bragged about his title win, boasting about now being atop the WWE mountain and how he is now “the face that runs the place”.

John Cena soon interrupted. The 15-time champ said

WWE Backlash 2016 Review

Women’s Championship – Natalya vs. Naomi vs. Carmella vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch vs. Nikki Bella (Six-Pack Elimination Challenge)

Match 1 – Apollo Crews vs. Baron Corbin (Pre-Show match)

Booked during the Backlash pre-show as a result of a backstage encounter between the two, the first matchup of the evening saw the speed and atleticism of Apollo Crews take on the strength and brute force of Baron Corbin.

Crews withstood a ton of punishment from Corbin, including a huge clothesline that turned him inside out, but he fired back with several major maneuvers including

Returning Ex-wwe Stars Update! What’s Kurt Angle Doing? | WrestleTalk News

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

In this episode of the WrestleTalk News, an update on all the ex-wwe stars returning to the company, a special focus on Kurt Angle, and Ddt’s latest Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion.

Audience Wins Championship?

Our top story today is the latest update on ex-wwe stars returning to the company for the brand split, but first…a good crowd can make or break a wrestling match. Few crowds, though, ever win an actual championship.

Ddt Pro-Wrestling are a Japanese indy promotion famed for their mixture of strong style, hardcore and comedy matches. And they have one of the least prestigious titles in wrestling today: the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship – which, for a quick summary, is the WWF’s Hardcore Title on crack.

Just like the Attitude era belt, the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship is defended 24/7. On one occasion,

Who Was Revealed As Raw’s Gm? New Division Announced For Monday Nights! | WWE Raw 07/18/16 Review

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

The 07/18/16 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw reviewed in about 4 minutes – including Raw and Smackdown’s new General Managers revealed, an old division being brought back to WWE, a huge WWE championship match and more…

Brand Split-amania!

The old ‘New Era’ ended with its most common trait – an opening promo segment with some McMahons.

They bantered about the draft, and Stephanie claimed to have better Lady Balls than Shane’s…man balls. Lady Balls was one of the rumoured names for Stephanie’s upcoming autobiography, so it looks like they’re turning that into a catchphrase. It’s a shame, as I much prefer “Filthy, Dirty, Disgusting, Skanky, Brutal, Bottom-feeding, Trash-bag ho”. Drink it in.

Stephanie announced Mick Foley as Raw’s new General Manager – he’s got a new reality show

Brock Lesnar’S Ufc 200 Win

Brock Lesnar is by far WWE’s most high-profile talent right now, winning his first fight in 4 1/2 years at Ufc 200 over the weekend. But all that got was a 30 second photo montage recapping the victory. John Cena got more plugs for hosting the Espys this coming Wednesday. Mr Robot Season 2 got more plugs than Ufc 200.

It’s weird because it’s not like WWE and Ufc are competition or anything. They’re totally different things, guys. Not competition at all. Completely separate. They just
