TV Facts on Pacts: Who’s Scored Overall Deals
Overall and first-look deals still drive the television business.

Although some mega-producers have moved to the streaming world, including Ryan Murphy and Shonda Rhimes at Netflix, the overwhelming majority of pacts are still at the studio and linear network level. These deals help lock in show services, as well as keep the development pipeline flowing.

It stars Katy Mixon, Diedrich Bader, Meg Donnelly, Daniel Dimaggio, Julia Butters, Carly Hughes, and Ali Wong. Sarah Dunn wrote the series and serves as executive producer. Aaron Kaplan, Rick Wiener, and Kenny Schwartz are also executive producers. Ruben Fleischer directed and was executive producer of the pilot. Kapital Entertainment and ABC Studios produce.

David Fincher to return as director for Mindhunter season 2, with Andrew Dominik in tow

David Fincher is due to hop back into the director’s chair for his Netflix crime series Mindhunter in its second season, with fellow movie maestro Andrew Dominik set to join him.

According to The Playlist, Fincher will helm the opening and finale episodes of what is believed to be an eight episode season. Andrew Dominik, best known for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, will take charge of two episodes and House of Cards veteran Carl Franklin is set to direct the rest.

Dominik, who was last seen directing Nick Cave documentary One More Time With Feeling, is connected with Fincher via Brad Pitt, who has worked with both directors on numerous occasions.

‘Mindhunter’ Season 2: David Fincher Returning to Direct, Joined by Andrew Dominik and More — Report
Details surrounding “Mindhunter” Season 2 have been quiet over the last several months, but a new report from The Playlist brings some exciting news about the next batch of episodes. David Fincher, who executive produces the show and directed two episodes in the first season, will reportedly be back behind the camera for the Season 2 premiere and finale. Directors Andrew Dominik and Carl Franklin will join Fincher for Season 2.

Dominik is an indie favorite after directing “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.” His other credits include the Nick Cave documentary “One More Time with Feeling” and the drama “Killing Them Softly,” which starred Fincher favorite Brad Pitt. On Tuesday, the original cast of the Broadway show reunited to visit with a group of survivors from the Parkland, Fl, school shooting as they put on their own production of the musical. "What an honor joining my original Broadway Spring Awakening cast in Florida yesterday to work with some of the Stoneman Douglas students and their castmates on their production of Spring Awakening ❤️," Lea Michele (who played Wendla Bergmann) wrote alongside a photo of her and her former costars with the students.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, actress Kristen Bell has shared a very brief update on Frozen 2, the hotly-anticipated follow-up to the 2013 animated smash hit.

“I have recorded the movie,” said Bell, who reprises her role as Anna. “There will be edits before it’s finished but I know the songs, I know the story, it’s very good — I can’t say much more than that or I’ll get in trouble!”

Frozen 2 reunites directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, whiel Bell is also joined in the cast by the returning Idina Menzel as Elsa, Josh Gad as Olaf and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff.

The voice stars last collaborated on the short film Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, which was released late last year.

Frozen 2 is set for release on November 27th 2019.
