Bleacher Report Hires Epix Executive Rachel Brill to Lead Its Original Content Push

Bleacher Report has hired Epix executive Rachel Brill as senior vice president and general manager of B/R Studio, the Warner Media-owned company said on Wednesday morning.

In her new role, Brill will lead recently-launched B/R Studio’s push to find more mid and long-form original content aimed at its millennial and Gen Z sports fans. Brill comes over from Epix, where she served as head of unscripted original programming.

“Rachel brings exactly the right mix of an impressive track record developing ultra-premium content coupled with a digital-first storytelling sensibility that aligns perfectly with our ambitions,” Bleacher Report CEO Howard Mittman said in a statement. “She’s an avid sports fan and will rapidly focus our newly formed B/R Studio team towards developing and producing a wide range of original content.”

WarnerMedia’s Bleacher Report Taps Epix Content Vet Rachel Brill As Studio Gm

Exclusive: As it continues to build out its mid- and long-form content capabilities, WarnerMedia sports brand Bleacher Report has hired former Epix executive Rachel Brill as Svp and Gm of the recently created B/R Studio.

In the role, Brill will look to build a roster of projects targeting an estimated 200 million millennial and Gen Z fans of B/R. Her primary mission is to help the outfit establish a clear programming voice in a marketplace for sports-themed fare that has grown relatively crowded in recent years. Upstarts and established players alike, among them Dazn, Facebook, Showtime and HBO have stepped up their efforts to compete with ESPN in the unscripted sports space.

Rachel Brill Upped to VP Unscripted Programming TNT Originals

Rachel Brill has been promoted to vice president of unscripted programming for TNT Originals. Brill, who most recently served as director of unscripted development for TNT, is responsible for supervising development of unscripted series, collaborating with directors and producers on developing new ideas, providing creative oversight of unscripted pilots from pre-production through production and post-production; and supervising the continued development of series once they’ve been greenlit. Brill is based in Los Angeles and reports to David Eilenberg, senior vice president of unscripted development for TNT and TBS. Prior to joining TNT, Brill served as vice president of development and supervising producer at Zoo Productions.
