Writer/Director John V. Soto has written and directed five Australian feature films including action thriller Avarice (2022), which was acquired by Showtime USA for TV broadcast and streaming early 2023, sci-fi drama Alpha Gateway (2018), crime thriller The Reckoning (2014), horror thriller Needle (2010) and supernatural thriller, Crush (2009). John's latest film, Avarice, was selected for the Montreal Independent Film Festival where it won Best Thriller. Avarice has been acquired for release by distributors in numerous international territories. Previously John won Best Director for Alpha Gateway at the Austin Revolution Film Festival and also won Best Director at the British Independent Film Festival for his film crime thriller The Reckoning. His horror film, Needle, was selected for Screamfest while his supernatural Thriller, Crush, was selected for the Shanghai Film Festival.
