Exclusive: 'Code Black' ​Stages Elaborate Musical Opening for Season 3 -- Get All the Details!

The cast of the CBS medical drama will be dusting off their pipes and putting on their dancing shoes for an elaborate early season three musical number, Et can exclusively reveal.

The majority of the ensemble -- including Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzman, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth and Boris Kodjoe -- will be performing in the number, which will open the second episode of the new season. Rob Lowe and Moon Bloodgood will not be in the routine, which is set to Hozier's "Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene."

‘Battle of the Network Stars’ Sets Teams for Series Revival on ABC
ABC’s revival of “Battle of the Network” stars has set 20 teams of five celebrities each to compete in the upcoming season, the network announced Monday.

Stars from shows such as “Modern Family,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “Scandal,” “Melrose Place,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “The Goldbergs,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “The West Wing,” “Dallas,” “CHiPs,” “Law & Order” and many more will take part in the throwback to the classic series from the 1970’s.

The 10-episode season will pit teams of current and classic TV stars from multiple eras and different genres against one another in a variety of athletic games, like Tug of War, Archery, Kayak Relay, Obstacle Course, and Dunk Tank. The series will premiere June 29 at 9 p.m.

Medical drama “Code Black” has been renewed for Season 3 at CBS, Variety has learned.

The series takes place in the fictional Angels Memorial Hospital, where the high number often outnumbered the limited resources available to doctors and patients, creating a situation known in some hospitals as a “code black.”

It stars Marcia Gay Harden, Boris Kodjoe Melanie Chandra, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Jillian Murray, William Allen Young, Luis Guzmán, and Rob Lowe. Michael Seitzman, David Marshall Grant, Ryan McGarry, David Von Ancken, Marti Noxon and Linda Goldstein Knowlton serve as executive producers. ABC Television Studios produced in association with CBS Television Studios.

The series has enjoyed decent ratings, but nevertheless ranked as one of CBS’ lowest-rated scripted series this season. Season 2 averaged a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 and 6 million viewers per episode.

With their pulpy, entertaining sci-fi film Life now in theaters, star Jake Gyllenhaal and director Daniel Espinosa are already set to re-team for another cinematic outing.
