Suicide Squad director explains The Joker’s original role in the film’s ending

Before Warner Bros. drastically altered last year’s Justice League with a round of significant reshoots, the studio took its chainsaw to another DC Films release in David Ayer’s 2016 supervillain team-up Suicide Squad.

One of the biggest changes to that film revolved around The Joker, with Jared Leto’s role cut significantly, and the Clown Prince of Crime’s relationship with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn toned down to make it less abusive.

As we glimpsed in the trailers and marketing material, The Joker would also have been more involved in the film’s third act, with the Clown Prince of Crime reappearing after the helicopter crash to confront Task Force X.

Taking to Twitter, director Ayer has revealed his original plans for Leto’s Joker, stating that: “After Joker dropped [Harley] from the [helicopter] and crashed, Enchantress made a deal with him. He was going to take Harley home and

Wonder Woman 2 and Suicide Squad 2 production start dates revealed

With Warner Bros. and DC Films taking stock of the DC Extended Universe after the lacklustre reception to last year’s Justice League, it seems we’re now getting a good idea as to the next phase of their cinematic superhero universe.

We know that DC has Aquaman set to arrive in December, followed by Shazam – which is now in production – in April 2019 and Wonder Woman 2 in December 2019. Before then, Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot will also return to the UK to start principal photography on Wonder Woman 2 beginning May 28th 2018.

An Actor For Suicide Squad 2 Might Have Just Spoiled A Character's Appearance

Joel Kinnaman aka Suicide Squad's Rick Flag, might have just spoiled a character's return in Suicide Squad 2 with a workout photo. Check out this photo he shared on Instagram (via Uproxx) below and see if you can figure out where he slipped up before finding out below:

Anyone who wondered why actor Jay Hernandez is in that picture when Diablo apparently sacrificed himself in the first film, give yourself a prize! Now, it's possible these guys could be training for another film, but the appearance of Jai Courtney really makes it seem like these guys are pumping iron for the sequel villain ensemble flick.

Rumors of Hernandez's return have circulated the web, but there hasn't been any solid confirmation he would come back until this photo surfaced. Even with this photo, there's always a chance Diablo is as dead as a doornail. After all, his heroic send-off in

Diablo Returning For Suicide Squad 2?

Long before Suicide Squad debuted in theaters, confidence was high in the Warner Bros. camp as the studio quietly assembled plans for a sequel, not to mention that Harley Quinn-fronted spinoff.

Those plans took a major blow days before David Ayer’s anti-hero feature arrived, though, when early reviews painted Suicide Squad as a calamitous mess and, perhaps most disappointing of all, a wasted opportunity. But the box office numbers said otherwise and after pulling in a whopping $745 million, Suicide Squad 2 is now brewing in post-production.

Already, we know that Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Will Smith are all back on board to reprise their respective roles – Joker, Harley Quinn and Deadshot – and it seems they’ll be joined by a few more familiar faces as well: Captain Boomerang, Rick Flag and Diablo. Yes, you read that last one right. Diablo will be back for the sequel. Or at least,

Justin Deimen’s Unusual Route to Making Aurora Media Se Asia’s Essential Film Financier

Justin Deimen’s Unusual Route to Making Aurora Media Se Asia’s Essential Film Financier
An earlier career as a Village Voice journalist, a period scouting for the Rotterdam film festival and a stint with Fox Searchlight in Los Angeles, may not be the conventional route into fund management. But they provide Justin Deimen with the diverse experience necessary to make his Aurora Global Media Capital one of the most interesting film and entertainment investors in South East Asia.

The company is an object lesson in making a modest amount of money go a long way. With group managing partners Terence Kong, and Jeremy Sim, Aurora raised some $30 million in mid 2016 and opened its doors for business in August last year. It sees its mission as equity involvement and bridge loans as well as tailoring specific financing and consulting packages for projects and companies.

With barely half of its capital disbursed to date, its credits include: the Geoffrey Rush and Jai Courtney-starring “Storm Boy,” now in post-production

David Ayer Says Joker Should Have Been The Main Villain In Suicide Squad

There’s something quite refreshing about a filmmaker being very open and honest about the work they deliver – and also something very unusual. In this age of giant studio tentpole projects and high powered marketing machines, it’s most often the case that those involved with a film will predictably either sing its praises, or say nothing at all. To hear the writer-director of what was once one of the most highly anticipated movies of the DC Extended Universe express regret about his own story in conversation with a fan is nothing short of stunning – but that’s what we have with David Ayer, and his 2016 movie Suicide Squad.

While interacting with a fan on Twitter, David Ayer conceded that he regrets not making The Joker – played by Jared Leto – the main villain of the piece.

Yeah it was a big fun silly movie. It could have been a bigger

Is it time to erase Kevin Spacey from history?

Anghus Houvouras on whether it is time to erase Kevin Spacey from history…

It’s rare that you get to see a snowball rolling down a hill. The popular metaphor about momentum has always struck me as odd for a few reasons. First, how often does someone roll a snowball down a hill, much less successfully have a hand-sized ball of snow transform into a gigantic ice-cold flattening orb? Second, even if this was physically probable it’s doubtful that you were there to witness it. More than likely, you’re seeing the thing just moments before it mows you down like a Looney Tunes character.

The last few weeks has been the first time that the snowball metaphor has felt apt. I watched, as so many did, as accusations rolled out against small type perps like Devin Faraci, Harry Knowles and their enablers like the head of Alamo Drafthouse

Jared Leto plays down his on-set “method” antics on Suicide Squad

Jared Leto is well known for the extreme lengths he goes to in order to get into character, but his alleged antics during the shooting of Warner Bros.’ DC blockbuster Suicide Squad certainly raised a few eyebrows.

According to reports, Leto sent a number of bizarre “Joker-inspired” gifts to his cast mates, including live rats, a dead pig, bullets, “sticky” Playboy magazines, anal beads and even used condoms. However, it seems some of the more outlandish reports may have been wide of the mark, as Leto has downplayed the situation during an interview with Entertainment Weekly to promote his new film Blade Runner 2049.

“Most of it was total bullshit,” said Leto. “Like that I was giving used condoms to people, which was not true. It doesn’t matter how loud you shout or hold up a sign with your pants off in Times Square — people will run the story that they want.
