Nicholas Cook had his first breakthrough role of Executive Producer/Producer of Australia's most successful documentary film Bra Boys (2007) narrated by Russell Crowe. Cook followed with another character driven, multi AACTA award-winning feature documentary Fighting Fear (2011) collaborating with Joel Edgerton. A spin off TV series, The Crew (2013 - 2015) was commissioned by Fox Sports and The Nine Network and resulted in three (3) complete seasons with 36 episodes sold in over 35 countries.
Cook has also Executive Produced a number of story driven documentaries including 'Missing' (2013), You & Me (2016) and Proximity (2017). Whilst producing the above films/TV properties, Cook also founded Garage Entertainment (again with long-time business partner Michael Lawrence). Garage Entertainment became the largest distributor of Action Adventure content in the world, with its own SVOD platform and linear TV channel, and was successfully sold in 2015 for an undisclosed amount.
From 2016 to 2021 Cook produced numerous film and TV programs including 'Save This Shark' (starring World Surfing Champion Mick Fanning), nominated in the Newport Beach Film Festival and Oceanside International Film Festival; 'Save this Rhino' (staring Kevin Pietersen - former English Cricket Captain) winning both the Monolith Award and Lumiere Awards; 'Save This Rhino - India (also staring Kevin Pietersen) which won the Asian Academy Creative Awards for Best Natural History and Wildlife Show, and Best Current Affairs Program; 'MuM (Misunderstandings of Miscarriage)' and 'Here For The Horses'.
In 2022, Cook was again nominated for an AACTA Award (Best Mini Series) for the TV drama 'Barons' (8 episodes) in conjunction with FremantleMedia and the ABC. Concurrently he is in post production on the feature documentary 'Skategoat', and in development on a number of factual and drama based programs.
