Marie Ellis(I)
- Actress
Marie was born in Omaha, Nebraska (US). In this Midwestern city, she
began performing at the same theatre where Henry Fonda and Marlon
Brando made their debuts - the Omaha Community Playhouse. After years
of being involved in theatre productions - some involving cross-country
tours for months at a time - Marie attended theatre school at the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln on a scholarship. Though she enjoyed
university and was on the honor roll, she left college after two years
to move to Los Angeles. Five years of residence in Los Angeles yielded
supporting rolls in a few independent films, as well as U5 appearances
on shows, such as Medium and Blue Collar TV. Inevitably drawn back to
academia, however, during that time, Marie re-enrolled in college at
the University of California-Irvine, studying English. After a year of
living abroad in Berlin, Germany, Marie graduated magna cum laude with
a BA in English from the University of California. Shortly after
graduation, she moved to San Francisco for a year to work on the
editorial staff of a magazine. Marie then moved to Brighton, England,
where she attended the University of Sussex and earned a Master's
degree in Critical Theory in 2011. She has lived in England since 2010
with her husband and her dog, a corgi named Ferdinand, and she can be
seen on stage in various local theatre productions. She is also an avid
writer and completed her first novel in 2012.
