Synopsis: On a Saturday night in Istanbul, despite the pleas of his fiancée, cynical Alper refuses to join the anti-government protests happening on his doorstep. He just wants to stay home for his weekly dose of poker, played with his regular crew of high-school friends. The friends set off on a series of passionate, and at times ill-thought-out, squabbles on whether they should join the demonstrations or not. The game is interrupted when 2 protestors take refuge in the flat, which forces the group to act. Taksim Hold'em premiered in the 30th Tokyo International Films Festival, in the Asian Future Section.

Born in 1980. Studied Theater at Davidson College, NC. Moved to Dublin upon graduation where he lived until 2008. Continued his training at the Gaeity School of Acting and Irish Film Academy. Started his professional acting career in Ireland's popular prime-time soap opera "Fair City". Upon his return to Turkey in 2009, shared the lead with Tuba Büyüküstün in his first cinema film - "Ask Your Heart" - directed by Yusuf Kurçenli. Acted in numerous hit dramas and comedies on Turkish TV.
