Jesse earned his high-school diploma from Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, CA in 1987, and a B.A. in Journalism from Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA in 1993. While studying at Humboldt State University he began working at the student radio station, KRFH-AM, and the university's public radio station, KHSU-FM.

Jesse's first job in television was at KVIQ-TV in Eureka from 1991 to 1994. He began as a news intern while studying at Humboldt State, then became an operations technician after graduation. In addition to directing and technical-directing local newscasts, his duties included all aspects of ENG/EFP and studio operations.

In 1995, Jesse moved back to Los Angeles, where he began his career as a film & video editor. From 1995 to 2001 he worked as a freelance editor in no less than five televsion newsrooms, two of which were network O&Os, and in two cable network news bureaus, editing spot news and feature stories.

In 1997 Jesse began building his own editing systems and doing business as "Ettinger Productions," working continuously on corporate, entertainment and news projects.

In 2001 Jesse began editing for the Los Angeles Bureau of ABC News. In 2006 he added the Los Angeles bureau of CBS News to his client list, and the distinction of being an on-call editor for two major U.S. broadcast network news divisions. He has, on several occasions, edited stories for two U.S. broadcast networks in the same 24-hour news cycle.

From April, 2007 to October, 2009, Jesse worked at the Entertainment-Marketing division of The Walt Disney Company's ABC Television Network. He on-line-edited & finished promos for ABC Television's prime-time programming. These promos aired throughout the U.S. on the ABC Televsion Network, and on various cable channels, the Internet and other points of delivery.

Jesse freelances as "Ettinger Productions" and resides in the greater Los Angeles Area.
