Charlotte Lake(I)
- Actress
- Executive
Charlotte Lake grew up in the countryside of Sweden, but by the age of
16 her creative-yet-restless spirit was poised to discover more.
Securing a spot in the prestigious Swedish Ballet Academy, Lake left
school and moved alone to Stockholm to begin her training. A true
Swedish beauty - it wasn't long before a modeling agent discovered her
and once again, Charlotte's path would venture further from the forests
of Sweden, this time taking her to Greece, Italy, Spain and beyond.
Intuition, as well as a lifelong mentor urged Charlotte to follow the
path to acting - where she knew the continued pursuits of her creative
talents could be explored. She immersed herself into the craft,
initially studying at the famed Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute
in New York where her natural talent was revealed and she quickly
accelerated to the most advanced level of studies. The study of acting
continued and Charlotte went on to further hone her work under the
guidance of noted industry visionaries such as Joan Scheckel and Harold
Guskin. While in New York, Lake starred in theatre productions such as
Miss Julie and The Boomboom Room among others, and it was her moving
performance as the cerebral palsy afflicted Scarlett in Judith
Thompson's Off-Broadway production Lion in the Streets that earned
Charlotte nightly standing ovations to sold out houses. Building
a resume rich with art house film productions, it was Charlotte's
performance in director Tony Jannelli's Five Years of Forever that
earned her an honorary mention for Best Actress at the highly acclaimed
Accolade Film Festival. The film later sold at Cannes and was
internationally distributed. In the indie hit feature film Let Them
Chirp Awhile, Ms. Lake showed her penchant for comedy, and again stole
hearts as the star-crossed love interest of lead Justin Rice. It was
her turn in Let Them Chirp Awhile which led her to being called to
Hollywood. Charlotte's career continues to flourish and bloom and is
richly nurtured by her husband, Mark and their beloved rescue dog
Tarzan.
