Avengers 4 will deliver “a definitive ending”, says Marvel’s Kevin Feige

It’s been said on several occasions that Avengers: Infinity War and next year’s as-yet-untitled sequel will mark both a conclusion and a new beginning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Contracts are expiring, newer characters are breaking through, and it seems we’ll be in for a very different Phase Four once the dust settles on the battle between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Mad Titan Thanos.

Speaking to The Toronto Sun, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has once again reiterated this point, stating that Avengers 4 will deliver “a definitive ending”:

“Storylines can come to an end,” states Feige. “The best stories do come to an end. Return of the Jedi was an ending for a long time and as a 10-year-old in 1983 that carried me through 30 years until there was a sequel. That hasn’t happened before in the superhero genre. A new actor comes in

Will the Sequel to "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" be as Successful as its Predecessor ?

Source: "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" via Facebook

Director Joe Johnston's original "Jumanji" feature (1995) was such an overwhelming fan favorite there was skepticism surrounding a reboot of the franchise in 2017. Luckily, the updated version of the wild animal adventure followed a new path, regarded as more of a sequel to the original than a 'reimagining', keeping fond memories of actor Robin Williams' epic intact, while offering a new direction for another installment in the movie series opening in 2019:

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a major hit when it was released, earning a hugely impressive $961 million at the worldwide box office, ranking as the fifth-highest grossing film of the year and motivating Sony's Columbia Pictures to plan for another sequel in 2019.

The film also received positive reviews, with most critics agreeing it was a humorous update on the source material for modern audiences.

Kevin Feige says Avengers 4 is ahead of schedule

With both Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel taking place prior to the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel fans face an anxious wait to see what comes next after Thanos’ snap, with Avengers 4 – rumoured to be titled Avengers: End Game – still some nine months away from release.

Nevertheless, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has provided Birth.Movies.Death with an update on the status of the next Avengers outing, revealing that editing is underway and things are moving ahead of schedule.

“We’re just starting the edit,” said Feige. “The Russo brothers have worked on their cut, and we’ve been together in the editing room for a couple weeks now, so it’s very early days. But it’s much earlier than usual, right? Usually we’re still filming. Captain Marvel comes out in March, while this one comes out in May and we’re already starting.

Evangeline Lilly Really Wants An All-Female McU Movie

Since late last year, Marvel fans have gone wild for the idea of an all-female McU movie. It was first discussed by Kevin Feige, when he revealed that Thor: Ragnarok‘s Tessa Thompson had teamed up with a few of her co-stars to pitch him the exciting idea. And from there, it’s well and truly snowballed.

Multiple Marvel actresses have latched onto the notion as well, including Scarlet Johansson (Black Widow), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula) and Letitia Wright (Shuri). And though Elizabeth Olsen has attempted to cool talk of the project, as she warned that it’s not really on the cards and the reaction to it has been blown out of proportion, that hasn’t stopped another Marvel star from hopping on board the bandwagon and making clear how much they’d like to be part of “an all-ladies McU movie.”
