Eric got his start in film at an early age. His first project, at age 7, was a stop-motion animation of a crashing Hot Wheels, filmed with the family's Sears super-8 movie camera.
Eric holds not one, but two bachelor's degrees from the University of Iowa. He initially graduated with a degree in Art, focusing on graphic design and photography. After more than a decade as an ad agency art director, Eric obtained a second degree in Cinema and Comparative Literature with an emphasis in production. He followed this with a few years working in varied roles on short and feature films, and other freelance film and video projects.
Since 2011, Eric has been Senior Editor and Videographer at Wired Production Group. His work includes regional and nationwide corporate video, commercials, and live event production. He has special interests in documentary production and motion design, and is a jib operator and certified drone pilot.
Additionally, Eric is Director of LiveWired Streaming Events at WPG-continually researching and testing online platforms and streaming technologies, training staff, and helping clients develop hybrid and virtual events. He has successfully streamed numerous webcasts and videoconferences for clients of all sizes and budgets across the United States, including corporate meetings, award presentations, industry conferences, political forums, fundraisers, non-profit events, music performances, sports, and more.
When Eric is not behind the computer or camera at his day job, he continues to spend time on short films. He has also volunteered countless hours with the Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival and Iowa Motion Picture Association. He is married with two sons who have started making their own stop-motion films.
