Born and raised in Belgrade and on the Adriatic coast (former
Yugoslavia), Sanya came to the United States in the early nineties.
After her Law School studies in Belgrade, an additional education at
the UCLA Film school led to her work with many artists in the
entertainment industry. Following her high-school vocational
orientation in theater and television, and successful presentation of
Eugène Ionesco's play "The Bald Soprano" she performed with her
classmates at the Belgrade National Theater Dadov, Sanya continues to
work in the entertainment industry.
She extended work in the fashion industry in Los Angeles and New York for almost a decade. She joined the non-profit organization Children Uniting Nations, for a couple of years, as Chief of Staff, and is still involved with different charitable programs. Birth name- Sanja Ilic.
2023 The sci-fi drama is based on the 2008 novel written by Sanya.
