And she's surrounded herself with a fine ensemble of comedic actors to back her up.

Screen Media has acquired North American rights to Deep Murder, the comedy horror directorial debut of Nick Corirossi, also starring Jerry O'Connell, Christopher McDonald, Chris Redd, Quinn Beswick, Josh Margolin, Jessica Parker Kennedy and Stephanie Drake. ‘Inside The Exorcist’ Review: A Fantastically Unnerving Podcast Series for Fans of Horror, Hollywood, and the Unexplainable

‘Inside The Exorcist’ Review: A Fantastically Unnerving Podcast Series for Fans of Horror, Hollywood, and the Unexplainable
“It was all true,” says writer and narrator Mark Ramsey in the early opening of his latest podcast series, “Inside The Exorcist.” He’s describing a particular demonic episode, not the fictional one depicted on screen in the 1973 film that gives this series its title and reason for being. But despite the certitude within that opening recounting, much of the series that follows succeeds at terrifying and informing in equal measure, by leaving just enough to the listener’s imagination. Packed with choice anecdotes and hair-raising episodes from personal and community histories, it’s a time-bending story that uses the strengths of its format to deliver another distinct Hollywood saga.

Much like he did with his previous effort “Inside Psycho,” Ramsey traces the origins of a bedrock horror film from its real-life inspirations all the way through its production. Interspersing the experiences of “The Exorcist” novelist William Peter Blatty, director William Friedkin,

Newswire: Katie Aselton to star in horror-comedy that’s “a softcore version of Pleasantville”

The League and Legion’s Katie Aselton is among those set to star in a movie described as a “basically like a softcore version of Pleasantville,” according to Variety. To clarify: This is a wacky-sounding, high concept project called Deep Murder, about denizens of the porn world who start to develop beyond their stereotypes once a serial killer is in their midst. So essentially, the murderer takes on Reese Witherspoon and Tobey Maguire’s job in the aforementioned Gary Ross picture. In addition to Aselton, the film is also set to feature reliable character actor Christopher McDonald; Johnny Simmons of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World; Stephanie Drake, otherwise known as Mad Men secretary Meredith; and two of its own writers, Josh Margolin and Quinn Beswick.

Margolin and Beswick are responsible for the screenplay, along with Nikolai Von Keller and Benjamin Smolen, while Nick Corirossi, who has worked for Funny Or

Fear, Inc. Review

Fear Inc. introduces an idea that’ll have most horror fans licking their lips, but ultimately fails to stick multiple landings. Director Vincent Masciale attempts to out-meta heavyweights such as Cabin In The Woods, but his self-serving plea to genre lovers comes across as more desperate than inspirational.

Characters talk in dialogue from past genre classics, making Luke Barnett’s screenplay seem poser-ish by incessantly focusing on past classics instead of investing in a righteous fake company. Fun horror appreciation (a Mimesis inspiration) unravels as “reveals” keep on whiffing, until you’re sick and tired of hitting the restart button. Not everyone can be Shyamalan right out the gate, and – unfortunately – when tricks aren’t also treats, everything falls apart.

Lucas Neff stars as Joe Foster, a horror movie buff who has become bored with the predictability of life. Girlfriend Lindsey (Caitlin Stasey) hopes to motivate her slacker lover, but

Fall Horror Movie Preview: A Definitive Guide to the Season's Macabre Offerings
2Nd Update (9/23, 3:23 Pdt): An earlier version of this article listed Elle Evans as the actress who plays the title role in The Love Witch. That distinction in fact goes to Samantha Robinson. We regret the error. Update (9/22, 11:37 Pm Pdt): The same day this article was published, Paramount pushed back the release date for Rings from October 28 to February 3, 2017. Original Article: Fall has traditionally been viewed as the prime time of year for the horror film, but this summer was actually a pretty good one for the genre, with movies like The Conjuring 2, Lights Out, and the surprise smash Don't Breathe doing gangbusters business in the midst of blockbuster season. But the year's not over yet! With September in full swing, there are a number of worthwhile (and, yes, questionable) titles looming on the release calendar over the next three months. Below, you can find a rundown of 12 upcoming horror films,
