French-born Grammy 2x Award-winning and 4-time nominee Mathieu Bitton, has designed over 1000 LPs and CDs and is a world-renowned collector and authority on Black films. Official photographer for Dave Chappelle and Lenny Kravitz. Album producer for Chappelle's "8:46" (Grammy nominated), "The Closer (Grammy winning), "What's In A Name" (Granmy winning), "The Midnight Miracle" and upcoming 2023 Netflix special album. Projects include the Transformers, Harry Potter, Miami Vice, The Departed, The Nice Guys, Spider Man and Terminator Salvation soundtracks, many film posters, including Kevin McDonald's "Marley" and Iceberg Slim "Portrait of a Pimp," Aretha Franklin's "Amazing Grace" and "Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown." Award-nominated box sets such as Jane's Addcition's "A Cabinet Of Curiosities," "The Story of Quincy Jones" and Miles Davis "Bitches Brew: 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition" as well as Prince's "Diamonds & Pearls," "Syracuse 1985 Live," "Welcome 2 America" and a half a dozen Lenny Kravitz albums. Clients have included Quincy Jones, Sting, Prince, Raphael Saadiq, Smokey Robinson, WAR, Stevie Wonder, Quentin Tarantino, Lady Gaga, James Brown, Ben Harper, Madlib, Maroon 5, John Lee Hooker, Jackson 5, Jakob Dylan, Augustana, Lionel Richie, Harry Belafonte, Iggy Pop, Buddy Guy, Run-DMC, Barry White, and Dolly Parton.
Bitton is the 2012 recipient of one of France's highest honors, Chevalier De L'Ordre Des Arts et Des Lettres (Knight of the order of arts & letters). He directed a short film for Dom Perignon in 2018. His first feature documentary film "Looking Back On Love" about Lenny Kravitz was released in 2013. His first book "Darker Than Blue" was released in 2021. His second book "Paris Blues" will be out in late 2024 with a foreword from supermodel Naomi Campbell.
