Nominated for Best Production Design by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) for Blumhouse sci-fi action thriller UPGRADE, Felicity Abbott was recently awarded Best Production Design at the New Zealand Television Awards, for her work on the Working Title UK production of The Luminaries. Directed by Claire McCarthy, the 6-part mini-series is an adaptation of the Man Booker prize-winning tale of love, murder and revenge set during New Zealand's 1860's gold rush.
Her recent work includes Amazon feature Don't Make Me Go and SONY feature The Invitation. Both projects received nominations for Best Production Design at the 2023 British Film Designers Guild Awards.
Felicity's extensive experience across a range of genre and period secured her position as production designer on the critically acclaimed REDFERN NOW for Australian company Blackfella Films, the winner of the 2013 TV Week Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Drama and 2014 AACTA Award for Best Television Drama series.
A professional member of The Art Directors Guild and The British Film Designers Guild, Felicity is a graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (MA Hons) and holds a BFA from Elam School of Fine Art, Aotearoa, New Zealand. She studied classical design at French national film school, La Fémis as part of her masters thesis.
From Aotearoa New Zealand, Felicity is a descendant of Te Whakatohea, Ngati Porou ki Hauraki, and a long line of sea captains.
