Mini Bio (1)
Torn between cardiology and acting at the age of seventeen, Jodie made her decision after receiving early acceptance and a hefty scholarship to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She packed her bags, and moved from New Bedford, MA to New York City to study acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory program. She worked consistently in the NY theater/musical theater scene for years, working with many renowned composers and directors.
In October 2007, she used her talent in Sales & Marketing to co-found The Savvy Actor, Inc. This bi-coastal business educated actors on building a business plan through Branding, Marketing and Sales fundamentals. Jodie taught at over 50+ universities and coached over a thousand clients to become savvy actors. The Savvy Actor Career Manual, the first ever business plan for an actor, is now sold internationally. Jodie was also an adjunct professor teaching the Business of Acting at Pace University in NYC for 3 years.
That company brought her out to Los Angeles in 2013 when she also switched gears to TV/Film, as well as producing. She produced 3 films her first year in LA. As an actor, Jodie has worked on numerous film and TV projects and Variety says she "Shines like a beacon."
Once in LA, she co-founded another coaching business called Accelerated Artist, Inc expanding her reach to teach branding, marketing, goals and networking to all artists not just actors. She has also created a best selling program called Reinventing Crowdfunding to teach other filmmakers how to raise money for their projects and has spoken on the subject at Comicon, Comikaze and at CBS Radford. She continues to speak and teach seminars at SAG-AFTRA, Actors Equity, and numerous training programs.
