Sara Barbas is an established writer and director for animation (2D, stop-motion and CGI). Sara freelanced for Aardman Animations for more than a decade in many creative capacities, and was part of the directing team on Moominvalley - the latest CGI adaptation of Tove Jansson's Moomin books produced by Gutsy Animations. Sara had her own animated children's series idea developed at Aardman; She has written for several international Emmy and BAFTA winning animated shows, and has also made award-winning short films. In 2017, Sara was nominated for a SOPHIA - the Portuguese Film Academy Award in the animated short film category. In 2023, Sara joined Giant Animation as an Episodic Director for a long-form CGI series.
