“Vogue Paris recently featured Gisele Bündchen on the cover of an issue dedicated to cruelty-free fashion, about which she said, “So happy that Vogue Paris dedicated this issue to animal protection, sending a strong message that wearing real fur is never an option!!”

“It’s amazing people watching,” noted a male member of Alicia Vikander’s trio of friends, who stood in the packed center of Chateau Marmont’s magazine clip-covered penthouse — where W Magazine (with help from Audi and Dom Perignon) feted this year’s cinematic standouts at their annual Best Performances party on Thursday night.

Buffing: Fall's Low-Key Nail Trend Actually Takes More Work Than You Think

If the fall 2015 ready-to-wear runway shows were any indication, we should see a bounty of buffed nails—or colors that are just as natural—this autumn season. Manicurists behind brands like Rag & Bone and Bcbg Max Azria left models' digits almost naked, buffing away until they naturally shined. Of course, Hollywood followed suit, and in the months following, celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie and even over-the-top pop princess Katy Perry dialed down the nail art for the subtle, less-is-more effect. But is constantly buffing—or polishing—your nails actually good for you? Compared to getting acrylics and gel manis, buffing is a healthy alternative, noted Sarah Gibson Tuttle,...

Meanwhile, Victoria has been busy as an ambassador for JetBlue’s Soar with Reading program, an initiative that has donated over $1.25 million in books to children in need. She explained, "I know without reading I wouldn't be who I am today or where I am today. There are so many kids who don't have access to books like I do or age appropriate books. They need that [access] so they can thrive and grow up to be whatever they want to be."

SAG Pension & Health Plan Whistleblower Craig Simmons Wasn’t First To Ring Alarms

Exclusive: Fully two years before whistleblower Craig Simmons alerted the U.S. Department of Labor to alleged malfeasance at the $3 billion SAG Pension & Health Plans, fellow employee Gary Mathis made virtually identical allegations to the federal agency, Deadline has learned.

Mathis and Simmons both filed claims and wrongful-termination suits, with decidedly different outcomes. Mathis’ claims were rejected by an arbitrator, but Simmons’ claims went public, with coverage so intense it led to the resignation of Bruce Dow, the benefit plans’ longtime CEO. The Simmons arbitration resulted in a confidential settlement, and that Dol probe is ongoing.

Mathis says that while the investigation into his charges led to the subsequent inquiries, “I got nothing out of it,” he told Deadline, which has obtained the Labor Department complaint he filed in 2009 (read it here). “Craig reached out to me when he was going through his lawsuit, and I met with him and with the FBI.

Fashion Insiders: Orly Shani's Nyfw Diary

Today was one of those days that I dreamt about the entire ten years I lived in New York City. I not only attended New York Fashion Week, but I was a part of it! The day started off the same way the last five days have: Coffee, shower and then welcome my awesome hair and makeup crew. We had three shows and a party to plan for, so picking makeup and hair that could easily transform throughout the day was important. It started with an interview with Mara Hoffman backstage, then I changed and ran off to Herve Leger to interview Max Azria and Lubov Azria. Then I changed back into my first look to sit front row at Mara's show. Next was a quick hair, makeup and wardrobe change and then I...

It's official. The curtain has risen on New York Fashion Week. What's better than a view from the front row? A view from the comfort of your couch, naturally.
