Laura Singleterry is a New Orleans, Louisiana based filmmaker. She was born in Pennsylvania, raised in Mississippi, and has spent most of her adult life in New Orleans. She received a BA in Communications: Drama and Film from the University of New Orleans in 2003. In 2005, Laura produced the independent feature, Down in New Orleans, which was filmed pre-Katrina and was awarded a prize at WorldFest Houston the following year. She lived in Austin, TX from 2005-2009 working as a 2nd AD for independent feature films, God Thinks You're a Loser, Mars, and Deeper and Deeper. She was a Supervising Producer on Campus Radio and worked as a Producer for Extra Butter Pictures, LLC. In 2009 the short period piece film she produced, Privateer, premiered at the Festival du Cannes in the Short Film Circle to positive response. She returned to New Orleans to live in 2010. In 2012 she took a break from production to work as a client specialist for Scenios, the NYC cloud based production platform. Additionally in 2012, she opened New Orleans Artist Agency to represent actor, Nathan Grubbs, and manages a small roster of clients. She also provides budget, breakdowns and packages for filmmakers as well as provides tax credit consultation and guidance for Louisiana filmmakers. She works as Producer (Help! My Gumshoe's an Idiot), Line Producer (Frenchy & Jett, Crescent City, Fractured), UPM (68 Kill, Monsoon Mangoes, Indiscretion, Brawler) and Music Supervisor (White Rabbit) for film and television.
