Rebecca Norris is a screenwriter and filmmaker, best known for the feature film Cloudy With a Chance of Sunshine (2016), the short films On Becoming a Man (2012), Toasted (2011), and Doodles (2011), and her web series Split (2013-2014).

Her feature film Cloudy With a Chance of Sunshine (2016), which she co-wrote and produced, won a Best Feature award at the Manhattan Film Festival and enjoyed a successful festival run nationwide, picking up other Best Film and Best Screenplay nominations. The film is distributed by House Lights Media and is available on streaming and DVD.

Rebecca's short film On Becoming a Man (2012) garnered several awards, including Best Comedy Short at the IFS Film Festival and Best Short Film at the Athens Jewish Film Festival. The film was acquired by Shorts International and is available worldwide on streaming platforms. Her short film Doodles (2011) was also acquired by Shorts International and is running on the ShortsTV Network on DirecTV, AT&T U-Verse, Google Fiber, and Frontier.

Her web series Split (2013-2014) won 2 Outstanding Achievement Awards at LA WebFest, was nominated for an Indie Series Award, and was voted one of WebVee Guide's Favorite Web Series of 2015. Her short Toasted won the Audience Choice Award at the Canadian Film Centre's ShortsNonStop Festival in Toronto. Her produced work also been optioned and distributed for TV, online platforms, and has been featured on PBS.

As a screenwriter, her comedy sketch "Mis-Fortune Cookies" was selected for the 2015 ABC Discovers Showcase in New York City, and two of her short screenplays have been finalists in the Dances With Films 2-Minute, 2-Step Screenplay Competition, where they were produced with sponsorship from Canon. Her script First American was recently selected for the Taliesin Nexus Liberty Lab Fellowship, where it will be developed and provided a generous production grant.

Rebecca is also a columnist for Script Magazine, where she writes the columns True Indie and Writers On The Web. Her columns explore the indie film and web series writing/production processes from development through distribution, and feature interviews with influencers in entertainment.
