After graduating from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in
2004, Chuck has worked hard in Western Canada to make a name for
himself and further his career in the audio industry. Establishing a
solid freelance career in Alberta, he relocated to the Vancouver
market. Chuck worked with Greedy Productions, creators of the popular
show
Electric Playground (1997),
for 3 years before moving onto other work. While there, Chuck was
responsible for everything that made sound. He edited and mixed the "EP
Daily" program, a daily video game/entertainment news show and "Reviews
on the Run", which at the time was a weekly video game review show. He
also worked on "The Art of Play" and "The Lab with Leo", info below.
The Art of Play (2006) was an original series offering viewers a full access pass inside next generation games through stunning gameplay footage and in-game cinematics that lasted for 3 seasons. With voice-over leading the viewer through the games mission and characters, The Art of Play is a visceral tour through the highlights of each game. Featuring high definition visuals and 5.1 surround sound, The Art of Play (2006) is shown in the United States on Gameplay HD.
The Lab with Leo Laporte (2007) was a reinvention of the popular show Call for Help (1998) that lasted for 2 seasons. The Lab was an hour long live technology help/talk show featuring Leo Laporte and other tech-savvy guests. Chuck was pulled on board as the live audio operator and could often be seen in the background with his fingers on the faders. The Lab debuted on G4TechTV April 23rd, 2007 and can be seen nearly ever day following that.
Chuck then went on to work for Global BC as their audio operator on the Morning News, where he mixed news, live music, and other segments for 5 years. It was during the last year that Global brought in the MOSART automated broadcast system, and he had the chance to learn and train others on how automation works with audio and the broadcast system.
In June 2013, Chuck was hired as a full-time Broadcast Audio Engineer with Dome Productions, the Canadian leader in mobile broadcast solutions. With them, he mixes and engineer live sports and entertainment shows, shown around the world.
