Rob Manning is a film/television composer and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work on BAFTA-nominated feature documentaries Maiden (Sony Picture Classics) and One Deadly Weekend in America (BBC).
He recently completed Nezouh (BFI/Film4), a feature film by Syrian director Soudade Kaadan, and series seven of the Emmy-nominated drama Jamie Johnson (CBBC).
Other recent projects include the feature documentary The Phantom (Netflix), additional music for Agatha Christie's The Pale Horse (BBC) and Soulmates (AMC) directed by William Bridges (Black Mirror, Stranger Things).
In 2019, he scored Climate Change: The Facts (BBC) presented by Sir David Attenborough, and the BAFTA-nominated 2020 follow up, Extinction: The Facts (BBC).
Other credits include Louis Theroux: Miami Mega Jail (BBC); Chuck Norris vs Communism (Netflix), which premiered at Sundance 2015; the BAFTA-winning observational film The Last Chance School (Channel 4); the BAFTA-winning comedy series Fonejacker (Channel 4); the award-winning documentary series Love & Hate Crime (BBC); and more than 80 other productions spanning 17 years for studios and broadcasters including Film4, BFI, Sony Picture Classics, Netflix, HBO, Discovery, National Geographic, Disney, SKY, BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
Rob has worked in the television industry for over 25 years. He studied music at Brunel University in London and toured with various bands before training as a sound recordist. He moved into full-time composing in 2005, initially specialising in factual entertainment - early credits include Horizon, Dispatches, Cutting Edge, First Cut, Grand Designs, Heston's Feasts and Gordon's Great Escape.
Born and raised in London, he now lives in Hove with his wife, two children, a couple of cats and a goldfish called Clem Fandango.
