Paolo Greco is the son of Spanish dancers José Greco and Nana Lorca (former director of the National Ballet of Spain). He is also the nephew of Paco de Lucía's first musical partner, Ricardo Modrego, and of the late Norina Greco, at one time a great Metropolitan Opera soprano.
After playing in numerous pop and rock bands, Paolo Greco went on to obtain a B.A. in Music (with Honors) from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (with composer Ian Gardiner), and an MPhil. in Music and Media Technologies from Trinity College Dublin (teachers included Donnacha Denehy and Jürgen Simpson).
Paolo Greco had already entertained the idea of scoring films and even ventured to do so before graduating, but it was theater that proved to be a fertile ground soon after. For Die Badische Landesbühne Theater in Germany, Paolo Greco has scored ten productions ranging from experimental contemporary theater to the American milestone 'A Streetcar Named Desire' by Tennessee Williams, the German version of 'Mary Stuart' by Friederich Schiller, and the classic 'Michael Kohlhaas' by Heinrich Von Kleist.
Throughout this time Paolo Greco has also worked as a sound engineer and sound technology lecturer, and has occasionally scored a good number of short films and documentaries including the late Simon Marsden's 'The Twilight Hour' aired on Discovery Channel.
Paolo Greco has just completed his first feature movie soundtrack called 'Backseat Fighter', directed by Mario Pagano and co-starring Martina García (Homeland TV-series).
