Tina Petrova has been part of the Canadian film, television and stage scene for over 30 years as an award winning actor, writer , producer and director. She attended Ryerson University's Film Program and is an alumnus of The Canadian Film Centre, founded by Norman Jewison.
Over the years, critics have dubbed Tina a "driving force" and "visionary" creating works of "faith and healing ."
Film festival awards include: Golden Sheath award ( Best Experimental Short)1992, Brilliant Light Film Festival ( Best Female DIrector) 2007 and The World Interfaith Harmony Festival ( Best Intl. Documentary short) 2013. Tina has spoken at the United Nations and for TED X Youth among other international venues.
Past collaborations include : working with the National Film Board of Canada, Vision TV, Canadian Iconic Fashion Designer Linda Lundstrom , and Scarboro Foreign Missions. Her break out feature film "Rumi Turning Ecstatic" has been programmed in more than 19 countries around the world and translated into 3 languages. It is represented by "Choices Video" Los Angeles. "Animating the Golden Rule..." her half hour educational short, is used in high school curriculum across Ontario, Canada.
Currently, she is in Post Production of a Feature documentary " Pain Warriors" with Producing and Directing Partner Eugene Weis." Pain Warriors" is represented for distribution and broadcast sales by INDIECAN Entertainment.
