Sohrab Mirmont is an Iranian-American filmmaker who graduated from Full Sail University with a degree in Film and Television Production. He achieved early acclaim by winning the Audience Choice Award at the 2005 New York International Film Festival for his debut short film, "The Beautiful Wind." His feature thriller, "The Freemason," starring Sean Astin, earned him Best Director and Best Film at the Comic Con Film Festival.
Mirmont's prolific work also includes two documentary films for the BBC, which have collectively amassed nearly a billion views, showcasing his versatility and appeal to a broad audience. When asked about Sohrab's success, his uncle, the late, great writer/director Abbas Kiarostami, expressed immense pride, saying, "I am very proud of him. I am very much enjoying another family member's success in the filmmaking industry."
Continuing on his uncle's illustrious path, Mirmont was the lead producer on his latest film, "Riddle of Fire," which premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival as part of the coveted Directors' Fortnight.
